Kelon Co., Ltd., founded in 1954 and formerly known as Ming Kai Trading Co., Ltd., first introduced nylon precursor to Korea, and the word originated from KOREA+NYLON=KOLON = Kolon). Since 1960s, Kelon Group has developed into a comprehensive chemical fiber manufacturer, and expanded its business to national pillar industries and emerging industries in 1980s.
