Wangtian Swan Scenic Area

Wangtian Swan Scenic Area is located on the southern slope of Changbai Mountain, where there are lush trees, gurgling streams, canyons and waterfalls. However, the most worth seeing in this scenic spot are the many unique volcanic geological relics, where you can see various lava joints formed by volcanic activity.

The name "Vangswang" comes from a volcano here. Wangswang volcano looks like a swan with its head held high from a distance, hence its name. This mountain, with an altitude of 2051.4 meters, is the second highest peak in the Northeast. Together with the main Changbai Mountain, it forms the peak ridge of Changbai Mountain.

The main scenic spots in Wangtian Scenic Area are located within 13 kilometers north of Mizokou. The scenic area has stone walls composed of gray stomatal basalt, black dense massive basalt and gray plate-like andesite basalt. The transverse columnar joints are like ladders, the radial joints are like proud peacocks, and the longitudinal joints are mostly quadrilateral or hexagonal.

Wangswan Volcano is a huge basalt volcanic cone with an eruption and overflow in the center, which is a huge caldera. The lava platform is formed by the underground magma from the volcanic eruption. Long-term weathering and erosion have created this basalt canyon that stretches for tens of kilometers. The volcanic geological relics and landscapes formed by volcanic eruptions in the valley are very rare.

In addition, the large and small waterfalls in the scenic area are also a major attraction. Many waterfalls flow down from the jointed basalt cliffs, and the scene is very special. The only famous waterfalls here include Mushroom Spring Waterfall, Mother and Child Waterfall, Zhulian Waterfall, Jiudiequan Waterfall, etc.
