Cabernet Sauvignon is a brand of dry red wine belonging to Changyu. At present, there are indeed some sayings that Cabernet Sauvignon is a grape variety. In this regard, the Grape Branch of the Chinese Agricultural Society said that there are nearly a thousand grape varieties in China. In the officially published grape variety list, Riesling, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are all on the list, but there is no such variety as Cabernet Sauvignon. The grape variety name "Cabernet" has never been applied in the national grape academic circles and production. The Grape and Wine Branch of China Horticultural Society also believes that according to the grape variety names and recognized standards named by the crop and horticultural circles in China, there is no grape variety named "Cabernet". The relevant person in charge of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in an interview with Xinhua News Agency that there is no grape variety "Cabernet" in the national wine standard. More importantly, the identification of grape varieties and strains is not only a professional and technical issue, but also involves legal issues. Moreover, the naming of variety names can only be formally determined after being approved and announced by the National Crop Variety Approval Committee. Therefore, scholars' views are only used as academic exchanges, not authoritative explanations, and it is not in line with the standards to regard "Cabernet" as a recognized grape variety. There is no grape variety called "Cabernet Sauvignon" in the Technical Specification for Grape Brewing in China issued in 22 and the national standard specification for Wine implemented in 28. There are only the unique standard names of each variety. Therefore, this short-term chaotic process cannot change the fact that "Cabernet Sauvignon" is not a grape variety or strain.
