According to the spirit of "Ordinary Senior High School Curriculum Plan (Experiment)" by the Ministry of Education and "Jiangsu Ordinary Senior High School Curriculum Reform Implementation Plan (Trial)" by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, the academic level examination of ordinary senior high school students in the province is set up.
The purpose of implementing the academic proficiency test is to strengthen the curriculum management and quality control in senior high schools, and at the same time provide more effective information about candidates to colleges and universities. Carrying out the academic proficiency test is conducive to promoting the all-round development of senior high school students and helping colleges and universities to select talents more scientifically and independently. The academic proficiency test was implemented from the students who entered the school in the fall of 2005.
The academic proficiency test is a comprehensive test of the learning situation of high school students during their school days. Academic proficiency test, foreign language test and comprehensive quality evaluation together constitute a complete comprehensive evaluation system for senior high school students.
The academic level examination subjects are set according to the requirements of high school students. In view of the fact that Chinese, mathematics and foreign languages are tested separately, and art, physical education and research-based learning are included in the comprehensive quality evaluation, these subjects are no longer included in the academic level test.
The setting of academic level examination subjects adheres to the principle of combining foundation with selectivity, that is, there are compulsory subjects and individual elective subjects. In order to reduce the number of exam subjects and exams, the content of elective subjects includes the required content of the subject. The specific subjects are set as follows:
1. Academic Level Examination 10 Subjects: Chinese, Mathematics, English, Politics, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Technology (including information technology and general technology).
2. The academic proficiency test is divided into compulsory subjects and elective subjects, including 5 compulsory subjects and 2 elective subjects. Elective subjects are selected by candidates from history, physics, politics, geography, chemistry and biology. Of the seven academic proficiency test subjects, except for two optional subjects, the other five are compulsory subjects.
3. Art and sports candidates can choose 7 courses as compulsory subjects if they do not apply for general majors.
