The woodblock printed advertisement of Jinan Liujia Kung Fu Needle Shop is the earliest existing flat printed advertisement in my country. It was printed in the Northern Song Dynasty, more than 300 years earlier than Western printed advertisements. This advertisement is engraved with the words "Jinan Liujia Kung Fu Needle Shop", with a white rabbit pounding medicine in the middle. On both sides of the trademark are the words "Recognize the white rabbit in front of the door as a reminder", and below it is engraved: "Buy the above When the steel rods are made into fine kung fu needles, they can be used in the house, and the customers can be turned into sellers. Please remember the white rabbit." (Picture 1) The layout of the picture is reasonable and the composition is rigorous, using myths and legends as the trademark pattern. From the perspective of advertising design, this advertisement is rich in pictures and text, and the text is concise. It contains the most basic elements of product advertising design, including trademark, title, guide, and text. It can be said to be a fairly complete ancient print advertising work. To a certain extent, print advertising is the pinnacle of ancient Chinese advertising achievements. The author will explore the development process of ancient advertising and its design concepts and characteristics.
