Yu Rui is a versatile writer and a poet who reflects the life and people's feelings in Liaodong.

Good at painting, fluent in western and Tibetan. He also translated hundreds of volumes of Tibetan Buddhist scriptures with ancient Chinese characters. He wrote a valuable monograph on the reference theory of A Dream of Red Mansions, Zao Chuang Xian Bi. There are several other works, which were later included in Siyuanzhai Collection and Siyuanzhai Poetry Edition.

Yu Rui is also a calligrapher, and his handwriting is elegant and fluent, which won the two kings' patriarchal clan system. He has visited Qian Shan many times and carved the words "Fa Shui Liu Chang" on the Sanxing Stone of Longquan Temple. Its handwriting is fresh, concise, handsome and has a strong personality.
