even if the Chinese phonetic alphabet is not added to the previously registered Chinese character trademark, the previously applied or registered pure Chinese phonetic alphabet trademark is generally not similar to the Chinese character trademark with the same pronunciation (unless the Chinese phonetic alphabet trademark has a specific meaning).
It is commonly said that "Pinyin does not exclude Chinese characters", and then others may not apply for a trademark of pure Chinese Pinyin with the same pronunciation. Pinyin with the same combination can phonetic several Chinese characters with the same pronunciation, and its connotation is uncertain.
