The first stage: application
After preparing the application documents and submitting them to the Trademark Office, you can get the trademark acceptance reply within 1 working day.
The second stage: formal review
It will take about 1-3 months from the date when the Trademark Office receives the application documents to issue a paper "Notification of Acceptance". The "Notice of Acceptance" proves that the application documents have passed the formal examination by the Trademark Office and entered the substantive examination stage.
The third stage: substantive examination
It will take about 6-9 months after the acceptance notice to complete the substantive examination. If the trademark passes the substantive examination, the Trademark Office will issue a preliminary approval announcement. The announcement period is three months.
Stage 4: Preliminary Examination Announcement
If no one raises any objection after the preliminary examination announcement expires, the Trademark Office will issue a registration announcement. The registration announcement proves that the trademark has been approved. The trademark applicant has obtained the exclusive right to the trademark.
The fifth stage: successful registration
It will take about 1-2 months from the date of the registration announcement to obtain the trademark registration certificate.
Note: The term of use of the trademark is 10 years, and no fees are required to be paid during the 10 years. The validity period of each renewal is 10 years
Domestic trademark registration normally takes about 1 year, and it is "stuck" without unexpected circumstances. If there is a problem in a certain link, then the time will be extend.
If you want to register successfully as soon as possible, you must conduct a thorough trademark search during the preparation period to avoid the situation where the desired trademark cannot be registered.
