Trademark acceptance in Colombia: application for registration of commodity trademarks, service trademarks, collective trademarks, certification trademarks, advertising language and color trademarks. Based on the principle of priority in registration, trademarks are registered by the Nice Classification of International Goods and Services for Trademark Registration.

Colombia is a member of the Inter-American Convention on the Protection of Trademarks and Commerce. In Colombia, trademarks need to be registered and used in Colombia to be protected. The Colombian government recently issued a decree declaring that trademarks must be used at the same time of registration to prevent similar imports. The period of validity of a registered trademark is 1 years, which can be extended for 1 years at a time.

II. Information required for Colombian trademark registration

1. Name and address of the enterprise (in Chinese and English);

2. Information such as the international classification of goods/services and the list of designated goods/services;

3. A copy of the business license;

4. 5 copies of trademark pattern, with clear requirements and good paper quality. If it is a color trademark, 1 black-and-white manuscript and 5 color manuscripts shall be submitted; Specifications shall not be less than 5cm×5cm, and the maximum shall not exceed 1cm×2cm；;

5. if it has been used, provide the earliest date of use in the registered area when applying.
