A pair of appendages at the front of the crab are called claw feet, and the surface is covered with fluff; There are 4 pairs of walking feet behind the claw feet, which are flat and long; Abdominal limbs have degenerated. The male and female of the river crab can be distinguished from its abdomen: the female abdomen is round and the male abdomen is triangular. Eriocheir sinensis often burrows in mud banks of rivers, lakes and marshes, moves at night, feeds on fish, shrimps, animal carcasses and grains, often migrates to the estuary to lay eggs every autumn, hatches in March-May of the following year, develops into young crabs, then goes upstream and continues to grow in fresh water. The fresh and tender meat of river crab is a popular food.
Eriocheir sinensis, a large crustacean belonging to the genus Eriocheir, has a body divided into 21 sections. Because the head and chest sections are mutually healed, the whole body is divided into two parts: head, chest and abdomen. The back of adult crabs is dark green, and the ventral surface is gray-white. The average length of head breastplate is 6-7cm, and the width is 7.5cm.
