Chadong Town in Huayuan County, Hunan Province, but now (2008) this town has been renamed "Border Town"

Because Shen Congwen is from Phoenix, many people think of it as a border town It’s Hunan Phoenix, but it’s not. Look at the first sentence of "Border Town": "Going from Sichuan to Hunan, there is an official road to the east. This official road is close to the border of western Hunan. When you reach a small mountain town called Chadong, there is a stream... ", obviously, the "border town" written by Shen Congwen is called Chadong. If you look at the map of western Hunan (or the map of China), you will find that there is no such place as "Chatong" in Fenghuang County. When you shift your attention to Huayuan County in the north of Fenghuang County, at the junction of Hunan, Sichuan (now Chongqing), and Guizhou, you will find that the "border town" is here. In other words, the prototype of "Border Town" is Chadong Town in Huayuan County, Hunan Province, but now (2008) this town has been renamed "Border Town" and is still marked as "Chadong" on previously published maps.
