Historical development
In 1690 AD, the Italian barber Femini added Italian water based on the formula of "Hungarian water" obtained more than 300 years ago (1370). Bitter orange blossom oil, bergamot oil, sweet orange oil, etc., created a very popular toilet water and passed it on to his descendants Farina. Farina later moved to Cologne, Germany, and began launching this perfume on the market in 1709, which was very popular. This perfume was named "Cologne Water", and its Chinese translation is also called "Cologne Water".
European men particularly like the aroma of cologne. They like to spray this refreshing and not too expensive "perfume" on their bodies after taking a bath. Therefore, early cologne is regarded as " "Men's perfume" does not add a fixative, so it cannot retain fragrance.
After reading the above, we all know that cologne is a grade name of perfume. But there has always been a misunderstanding in China that the perfume used by men is called cologne. (In fact, in the later period, China developed several men's fragrances named after the Chinese word cologne.) This can be traced back to two chains. One is from the complex between Napoleon and cologne. He himself preferred to use cologne, so Men are encouraged to use cologne because of examples and role models to follow. The second point is that Chinese culture values ??subtlety, so the fragrance chosen by Chinese people should not be too strong. If it is too strong, it will be too flamboyant. Therefore, cologne, which has the second-lowest fragrance content, became the first choice for the first batch of people in China who accepted the perfume culture.
