Pioneer and Asustek are basically the first-line brands.
BenQ and Samsung are a little worse than the above two brands
sony is now waiting for work, not good! !
repost:
the first part, let's talk about the ordinary DVD drive.
Generally speaking, few computers are not equipped with CD-Rom, otherwise it will be troublesome to install the system. As for the slogan that some Rightists shout out that CD-ROM is enough, it will be as good as a frog in the well. Nowadays, piracy in big cities is basically DVD (so is data album), so it is better not to buy a CD-ROM.
First of all, CD-ROMs are relatively unskilled products, and few of them are made by themselves. The CD-ROMs of big manufacturers are generally contracted by people, and you can know about their products by looking at the contract manufacturers. Some people are not convinced that Foxconn's motherboard can be compared with ASUS's motherboard. Of course, it can't. Motherboards are technical. Asustek and the like do design, make their own design drawings and require their own components. The OEM is only an assembly role. Even so, the requirements for quality control are also very high. Therefore, I agree that it is naive for the motherboard industry to look at OEM (forget about the OEM in China), but for such an ordinary thing as optical drive, which still requires so much? Then someone asked, will it be like LCD monitors, "OEM" (panel manufacturers are more accurate), which often changes. Optical drives are not as ups and downs as LCD panels, even if they are replaced, more rigorous manufacturers will change models. In addition, there are also rumors that the quality of different oem brands produced by the same assembly line is different, which is actually sour grapes. The good brand is their superstitious brand, but the bad brand is the brand they don't believe. At least, this rookie-level "knowledge" has existed since the CD-ROM drive era. Unfortunately, there is no evidence so far. It is credible that the OEM quality is exactly the same, because there are countless pictures of online disassembly, so you can go to the details for observation.
There are many brands of CD-ROM drives. Take the well-known ones as an example. Personally, I feel that there is little difference in CD-ROM drives, and their reading ability and life span are not as good as those in the previous era. However, the price is also in front of me, so I suggest that the CD-ROM drive be slightly forgotten. Taipower, Samsung, LG, Benq, Pioneer (note that I am patriotic, this article is only a technical article) are not much different. Some people bought it for a month and hung up, while others used it for two years, so don't care. Moreover, the optical drive should not covet the disc reading ability and long life, which is the king. It is not a big problem that you can't read a stall movie, and the poor quality of pirated discs is also the reason. However, at the critical moment, even the well-carved XP installation disc can't be installed, which is in trouble. Of course, the life of the CD-ROM drive is also related to the usage method and frequency, environment, hardware power supply, and whether it is fake or returned goods. The luck factor is really great. By the way, because the maximum is only 16X, there is no big difference in the speed of the CD-ROM drive, and there is little chance of disc explosion. However, in order to sell, many manufacturers' optical drives give birth to the "king of disc reading", often sacrificing their life, because the quality of disc reading is basically bald, and the same bald head (such as Sanyo, Pioneer and Philips in general), in order to improve disc reading, it is necessary to dynamically increase the power of the bald head, which is very bad, and the bald head is inherently fragile, so usually the better the disc reading ability, the faster the hanging time. By the way, there is the lock-up area, which is a good thing. The optical drives sold to developed countries are basically locked (RPC-II regulations). Besides, the author has not bought a disc that needs to be changed for several years now, so it doesn't matter. In short, the CD-ROM drive is not much different at first, secondly, the ability to read the disk is not even counterproductive, and thirdly, it is boring to care about the lock area.
Now I'll talk about some of the most famous optical drives:
1. Pioneer's optical drives used to be very good or even the best, such as the most famous 121SA (discontinued long ago, and now even if there is one, it's mostly returned goods). I remember that when I bought it, it was more than 4 yuan, and the price was more than half that of my peers. The suction cup is also very cute, but except for the extremely slow disc recognition and poor disc compatibility, everything else is very good (pay attention to the era in which 121 lived), and then the profit plummeted due to the price reduction of DVD. Therefore, there is a big price reduction of Pioneer. Unfortunately, many experts are too nostalgic and always emphasize Pioneer DVD on the allocation list. At present, several successor models of Pioneer, such as 122 and 123, have changed their control chips from Panasonic (MN13S71) to ali and MTK (MediaTek's MT1355PE) in order to reduce the price, and they have become short bodies (2M cache and the like are very minor), which has greatly shrunk? Note: Since the bald heads don't need to take care of technologies such as lenses, the current bald heads such as Sanyo and Pioneer are generally similar (as are the low-end recorders), then the role of the main control chip is as important as the motherboard, which is even more important. Of course, the medium quality of Pioneer CD-ROM drive is believed to be still available and passable. After all, it is not as hard as Sony's family background and face, but the price is too harsh. I think DIYer, who is used to being a pioneer, can properly consider changing his taste (people who are equipped with computers are generally used to some kind of optical drive). Now the pioneer has no advantage. In the words of a boss, with the name of the pioneer, he can still enter your field of vision. In addition, Pioneer started to cooperate with Asustek completely from 1/23 (black DVD-123D, beige 123A and silver 123E), so people who know a little know that Asustek's products are completely pioneer's products (for the complete reason, please see the recorder section), but Asustek's CD-ROM drive has multiple mute functions (in fact, there are pioneers, but it is not the pioneer's main push), so it is best to buy Asustek's. Because they are all made by Asustek itself, Asustek also has mute function. The most important thing is that the service of Asustek is better, at least better than that of Pioneer. Generally, people with backgrounds, such as benq, lg, Samsung and Asustek, have good channels and services (relatively good, at least better than Sony and Pioneer, but much better than people like NEC).
2.sony's CD-ROM drive has a bad reputation in the mainland market. It's not that I'm biased. Its DDU162X and 163X are all made by BTC (the OEM of CD-ROM drive has no strength, and there is no classic product, the spokesman of LJ). Besides its good appearance and strong channel ability of the agent's 7-up, it is said that it is very strong in the initial reading, but unfortunately its typical life span is low. Recently, it is said that it is suitable for China. Of course, when we talk about Pioneer and sony, we don't mean that they can't make things, mainly because they are dissatisfied with the low absolute profit. For example, Pioneer produces its own laser head and is a big manufacturer of optical drives (now it has been entrusted to ASUS), and its own bald head is very good, but it often doesn't use its own things. Obviously, it feels that your own things are expensive and it is not worth the loss. Things are good, but many people don't know that it is good, but they can't sell it and lose the market. Price and quality have always been great rivals, especially in China with low cost and low technology. Pioneer has done this several times before, winning the scolding every time. Why is 121 so impressive so far? It is because 12 is really doing too LJ. Just to reduce the cost, it uses the worst main control chip in Taiwan Province to make its reading, noise and heat all bottom, and to save face, it has made a 121. I used my own third-generation laser head and Panasonic's main controller, which are all good things and are highly sought after, and the profit is low. Especially last year, I started to reduce the price of optical drives, so I used the face of 121 to advocate a short fuselage. The main control chip is cheaper than before, and it keeps repeating, attracting you with high quality once, making money with low quality next time, and next time. However, the worst and strangest Japanese CD-ROM drive is SONY, which invented the CD-ROM and CD-ROM drive in conjunction with Philips. Just look at the high-end CD-ROM drive. Unfortunately, Sony was the most active in development, and found a OEM (mainly collecting royalties) in production. In order to maximize profits and reduce costs, the measures taken are nothing more than sacrificing quality to grab the market. This is not uncommon in China, and the products that cannot be sold out of backward products are sold to China for global quality control. Sony is even more so, getting a BTC thing to harm people, but it is a good thing for Jianxing OEM in our country, XD.
3.Benq, in the field of optics and magnetism in mainland China, BenQ is a heavyweight, and the output is very large. There are many manufacturers who do OEM work for others. Is the quality so-so, there are good and bad, and it is a moderate work. It won't lose money if you buy it, at least it supports domestic products (who means there are many domestic cynics). The new 165v series has good disk reading ability and noise control, and its service life is not bad as far as we know. The disadvantage is that many people in China who are not mentally healthy like to despise domestic products (that is, they look down on domestic products and worship foreign brands, which is easy to lose their temper). I think this is not objective. Stupid Ball has only been in storage for a few years, and it has made great progress. At the beginning, his products were really not so good. At least I tried to buy crocodiles and the like, but the product grade has been good recently. In fact, you can know it by looking at Stupid Ball's CD-R, which used to be inconspicuous. Moreover, it is also true that the current DVD drives are generally relatively streamlined. In short, the stupid ball is ok, the quality is the same as Pioneer/Asus, and it is worth buying. Of course, it is not much better. The main control chip of ALI M5721D is just of ordinary quality, and the price is there. It is convenient to buy. By the way, the trilogy of attacking stupid optical drive (not recorder) is attached:
1. There are many people who are popular. The quality of his optical drive has been analyzed before, and it is only mainstream, with a large output and shallow initial experience. However, the optical drive itself has both good and bad, with great individual differences and is often attacked.
2. Because it is made in china (although many foreign top brands are also made in China), the stupid ball, which is made in China, must be very poor, and the stupid ball is not a famous brand, so once it is broken, it will be full of grievances, swearing, eloquent, tearful, and the batch will be torn to pieces. On the other hand, if it's very LJSony, it's silent and guilty (Nissan must be good, but occasionally it may be an individual).
3. The wave after wave of criticism makes the novice have to buy Pioneer 123, which has a good reputation, or even Sony1632, and spend money unjustly.
4.Lite-On Lite-on Lite-on Lite-on, as an optical drive manufacturer in Taiwan Province, Baodao (note that Lite-on doesn't mean that Lite-on is the origin of registered trademarks in mainland China), its technical strength is very good, and its popularity in professional forums is second only to that of Puckett. Generally speaking, anyone who knows a little about optical drives likes Lite-on, its price is cheap, and its workmanship is good. Many big manufacturers look for it as an OEM, and its reputation is very good. Unfortunately, Lite Lite's advantages can be said to be above average in all aspects, especially DVD's good support performance for various formats, good disc reading and long service life, but it is a pity that the mainland does not buy much, because many second-tier cities have no sales, and big cities are not fully stocked. Specifically, at present, there are three models: Gold and Silver Fox 167T (panel color) and 16P9S series. The difference is not big. The 17T was discontinued due to the high noise (other things are good), but there are many sources. In many places, it is even sold only by Golden Fox. If the 16P9S is a little newer, the noise is slightly lower, and other differences are not big, but some are better. Many well-known optical drives, such as Sony1615 and NEC58, all adopt this model, and even the firmware can be brushed with each other. Because it is not as demanding on profits as Pioneer, the brand is also good.
5.LG optical drive. Although LG is the world's largest optical storage enterprise (HLDS--Hitachi LG Data Storage Alliance), it occupies a huge OEM market, but its sales in mainland China are less. I think its optical drive is OK, and it is famous for its durability and balance. The disadvantage is that LG's products are very good, and a few are poor. Generally speaking, it is good. Many students of the previous LG 4X optical drive are now using it very well (CRR Generally speaking, it is worth recommending. Take 8163B as an example, it is much better than 61 and 62, and its reading ability is good. Besides, like Pioneer 121, which stopped production, it all uses Panasonic chips. Perhaps there are very few DVD drives that use mid-range master chips at present, which is very wrong.
6.BTC (Yingqun), MSI, Patriot and Taipower are all of the same quality, which is highly recommended. I heard that BTC is the "worst quality", and I also feel that the products manufactured by BTC are all L.
