Donggang rice cultivation has a long history. Dry-cultivated Dahongmao rice began to be cultivated as early as ten years before the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. The rice cultivation area in Donggang City has been stable at about 700,000 acres, with an annual output of nearly 350,000 tons of rice. It can process 240,000 tons of high-quality rice. The " Liaodong Pearl, "Hong Kong King", "Dayanghe" and "Liulin" brand rice adopt environmentally friendly lamination technology. In 2009, Donggang rice was registered as the Donggang geographical indication trademark by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce and the Ministry of Agriculture. Nearly 20 rice brands using the "Donggang Rice" geographical indication trademark include "Yalujiang" brand, "Yalu Mingzhu" brand, "Crabtian" brand, "Liaodong" brand, and "Donggang" brand.
