Original article about Mount Putuo: Notes on Mount Putuo

The South China Sea is vast and misty, lingering in the mountains, trees, rocks, pavilions, pagodas, nunneries, Zen temples, and temples; Sanskrit sounds are like a tide, and the tide sounds are arrayed The formation, the sound is like thunder, ripples on the cliffs, cliffs, rocks, caves, the earth, the heart, and the beach. This is the growth of emotion given by the sea, and this is the luster of life contained in religion. Putuo Mountain is a visual feast that gradually unfolds. It can hold all the surprises and praises in your heart for the scenery! It can hold all the pious refuge and worship of Buddhism in your heart!

April Putuo Mountain is the spiritual communication between pilgrims and Sanskrit sounds, and the soaring wings of travelers and seagulls. The vastness here is worthy of your gaze, the solemnity here is worthy of your kneeling and worshiping, and the holiness here is enough to make you take refuge.

Walking here in the vast Putuo Mountain, it seems that I have finally slowly opened myself up. An isolated island, a piece of sea and sky, a Buddhist country, allowing heaven and man to look at each other across the sea. Let all living beings come one after another, so that the heart, which has long been accustomed to mediocrity and despair, finally has the joy and comfort of being saved and sustenance, and has the arrival and discovery of expressing one's heart.

Mount Putuo, the "Haitian Buddha Country", is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains and has long been famous. It makes people who have never been there feel admiration, as if missing this scene has already made a big mistake in life. When those beautiful pictures and texts are pushed in front of you by the media, albums and tourists, you can't help but admire and be fascinated, as if every picture will derive wings, carrying your expectations and expectations. Wishes fly.

In the spacious parking lot of Zhujiajian, I saw a pier with the word "the other shore" written on it. The pier has a unique building. The buildings next to it, like the Potala Palace, are majestic and majestic, and the atmosphere is endless. Amazing! Zhujiajian is a national AAAA-level scenic tourist area, facing Putuo Mountain across the sea. It is famous for its golden sand and blue waves.

The word "The Other Shore" seems to be the Putuo Mountain trademark posted on the lintel of Zhujiajian Pier, explaining the unique beauty of Putuo Mountain. Facing the majesty and majesty of Putuo Mountain, you will feel as if all the vastness and magnificence have the most stable support, and all the confusion and helplessness have the most reliable destination. Those turbulent emotions finally turned into inner peace and tranquility. It seems that the existence of Putuo Mountain is to soothe the suffering souls in the world.

I have always felt that beautiful things cannot be observed with the eyes only, but must be tasted with the heart in order to penetrate deep into the texture and penetrate into the heart. Just like a good dish, you have to close your eyes and feel the taste on your tongue. A cup of good tea or a cup of good wine must be savored carefully to feel its aroma and purity. When you encounter Putuo Mountain, it can filter your impetuous heart with the Buddha's Dharma and tranquility; use Sanskrit sounds and incense to cleanse the worldly dust in your vision; use the blue of the sea and the sound of tide to drive away the gloomy haze in your heart.

In the interaction between man and nature, life must have a secret inner principle. Therefore, when the morning bells and evening drums of the Zen temples in Putuo Mountain are ringing, when pilgrims arrive one after another, when wisps of incense are lingering, when the sound of Sanskrit is heard continuously, when waves of tide sound sweep over, it is easy for us to I will think of poems such as "If the sky is sentimental, the sky will also grow old" and other poems, and think of life, destiny, abyss, hardship, suffering, helplessness and impermanence of life. And all worship seems to be a ladder, a kind sail, a lotus, and a reed born out of a desperate life, used to climb and ferry our gratitude and prayers to this world.

The mountains of Mount Putuo are not high, the valleys are not deep, and the trees are not lush. However, the road is winding and winding, with dense temples, rugged rocks, towering trees, towering rocks, and mist. The scenery changes with each step. If you look around randomly, you can see a patch of blue cut by branches, scattered in the narrow sky. The seawater seems to be obscured by the dense vegetation, but the noisy sound of the tide seems to sweep in day and night through the rocks and vegetation. Sanskrit sounds are heard in temples, among the crowds, and in the incense, but mixed with the sounds of wooden fish, they sound extremely clear.

The long-standing temples, nunneries, pagodas, caves, Buddha statues, and cliff carvings are full of a sense of religion and history. When we look at them, we feel a sense of mystery and solemnity. The so-called fireworks and vicissitudes of life in the world seem to be worth mentioning in front of it.

The light of the Buddha shines universally and saves all living beings. He stands majestically. The temple does not say a word, and the Buddha in the Mahavira Hall does not say a word either. He only looks down at the turmoil of the human world with his purity, towering, gentleness and compassion.

At night, the entire Putuo Mountain is dimly lit with bright lights. The lights dim over the B&Bs and hotels. The lights are burning in the temples in the distance, flickering and flowing on the sea farther away. Looking at Looking at the vast sea, I have to feel that I am as small as dust.

I am not a Buddhist, I can only say that I am slightly partial to Buddhism. In Puji Temple, in Fayu Temple, in Huiji Temple, in Foding Mountain, in Luojia Mountain, in Zizhu Forest, in front of Guanyin in the South China Sea, in Nantianmen, Guanyin Cave, Chaoyin Cave, in the West, and in the clouds Fushi, Pantuo Stone, Baibusha, Qianbusha and other places are full of incense and tourists, but there is no bustle and noise like some other scenic spots. The piety and silence of tourists seem to make the whole Putuo The mountain is filled with a sense of emptiness, tranquility and solemnity.

On the way to Nanhai Guanyin, the long and narrow stone road is close to the mountain on one side and the sea on the other. You can see the Nanhai Guanyin statue standing on the top of the mountain very far away. No matter which direction you look at, it seems You can feel the kind face of Nanhai Guanyin with lowered eyebrows and lowered eyes to save all living beings.

A young man, carrying a bag, kowtows in three steps, in the direction of the Guanyin statue in the South China Sea. I have been watching him from behind. The young man looks about thirty years old and has a delicate face. Face and haggard features. When he stood up again every time he knelt down, it seemed like it was extremely difficult. I didn’t know how far he had traveled? How many times had he knelt down and knelt down? I didn’t know where he came from. But I knew where he was going. ! Just like when I see people prostrating themselves on the road to Lhasa, it always brings tears to my eyes. I can’t explain clearly this kind of worshiping Buddha, and maybe I can’t understand it, but I must respect it. Watching him kneel down devoutly, I don’t know why? Tears welled up in my eyes.

Is this a way to cleanse the heart? Is this a way of almost self-torture to make the Bodhisattva aware? I can’t explain the reason for this appearance. Maybe they encounter difficulties in life. I encountered all kinds of unsolvable and painful things in the world that were caught off guard. I know that my worldly mind cannot truly understand the heart of a persistent person. But in my opinion, this young man must have experienced or experienced a sad and painful story that is different from ordinary people. Or maybe he no longer has a self in his heart, has achieved great enlightenment, is empty of all four elements, and is devoted to the Buddha.

Nanhai Guanyin is the place I most want to visit during this trip. This iconic building of Mount Putuo stands on the top of Longwan Mountain. Whether it is religious status or cultural value, it is the best in Mount Putuo. It is also the largest bronze statue of Guanyin in China today (it is said to weigh 70 tons and is entirely made of brass). . Before that, I also saw and heard reports and videos about the strange events when Guanyin was consecrated in Nanhai. Regarding such supernatural phenomena, I cannot judge whether I believe it or not. Because, deep down, I still believe that there are still places in this world that are beyond the reach of human eyes and science, and there are still many unknown and unsolved things.

On the way to the Nanhai Guanyin Statue, there are many ancient temples and towering ancient trees, accompanied by the sound of Buddha and the sound of the tide. Because it was a sunny day and the sun was shining brightly, I did not see the wonder of the fairy mountains on the sea and the mountains in the ethereal space. But the sky is blue, with layers of white clouds, like fish scales, each one seems to be picked up by one's hand. The statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva in the South China Sea stands with a face like a full moon, kind eyes, holding a Falun in his left hand, and his right hand slightly raised, shining in the sun, as if Having just descended from the sky and looking down at all living beings, everyone who worships the Buddha instantly feels that their hearts are pure, free of struggle, nameless and dependable. At this time, I saw a white dove suddenly flying up and landing on the left hand of Nanhai Guanyin holding the Falun. Everything was so natural, everything was so appropriate, an inhuman feeling and feeling.

At that time, I couldn’t help but burst into tears. I looked up at the face of Guanyin Bodhisattva for a long time. I burned three sticks of incense and worshiped the three treasures of the ten directions. When I put my hands together, the prayers in my heart turned into murmurs in my mouth. May the Bodhisattva hear my thoughts.

In my limited reading and thinking, Buddhism is about important abstract issues in life, and if people take a little bit of it, it is "good".

With kindness, how many wars in this world will turn into jade silk?

At that moment, people's worries were eliminated, and their thoughts stopped at the highest point, without sadness, restlessness, helplessness; at that moment, People gain the tranquility and joy of life. Under the huge Buddha statue of Guanyin in the South China Sea, I silently realized the inner desirelessness and inaction. At that time, people could see very far away and clearly see all life and death, all the afterlife and this life. When we reach that height, we know that there is another existence appearing in our lives.

? Guanyin refused to go here, and the sacred mountain on the sea came to Putuo? This is a story that happened more than 1,700 years ago. The truth and legend of the story cannot be verified. But people would rather believe that this is a real existence, because in the hearts of Chinese people and Buddhists, the Great Merciful and Great Compassionate Guanyin Bodhisattva is the god who protects each of us. And in this sacred mountain, in this Buddhist country, in this blessed land where mountains and seas are connected, who else is willing to hold on to the hardships of the world and not let the whole heart bloom freely like a lotus?

The next day, I went to the Xitian Scenic Area. When I saw the word "西天" carved on the huge stone, the story of Tang Monk going to "西天" to obtain Buddhist scriptures in "Journey to the West" immediately flashed in my mind. Of course, in "Journey to the West", the Western Heaven where Tang Xuanzang obtained the Sutra was in ancient India, and the Western Heaven on Mount Putuo must have given me a different experience.

The Xitian Scenic Area includes Xitianmen, Heart Character Stone, Guanyin Cave, Ergui Listening Stone and Pantuo Stone. This is a process of gradually getting better and better. There are many strange rocks and ancient trees. Many ancient trees that are hundreds or thousands of years old are deeply rooted in the crevices of the cliffs. Some tree roots have been exposed on the ground, and roots extending far away are abrupt. Rugged, old and mulberry. Thousand-year-old ancient camphors and cloud-covering boulders, some are shaped like birds and beasts, and some are like Buddhas, most of them are naturally formed and lifelike. When I cannot describe the sigh in my heart, I can only sigh! I am amazed! I am amazed! < /p>

Lamentation is a sigh of admiration for the majestic mountains and rivers of the motherland. Walking down from Foding Mountain, along a narrow path with steep stone steps, you can see a peach tree still in full bloom as you go down slowly. Deep in such a cliff lined with strange rocks, there is a pink peach blossom in full bloom. My eyes were drawn towards it, and I seemed to have forgotten time, the way home, and everything else in the world. My soul seemed to have been purified. The scene in front of me is something I will never forget in my life, and I dare not forget it. In front of me are huge rocks, leaning out, cliffs, and beneath the thousand-foot barrier is the boundless sea. Isn't that the vast sea and sky? Isn't that what the poet Haizi wrote? Facing the sea, spring flowers are blooming? The scene in front of you is so vast, so boundless, so vast, so beautiful, so high and so silent. Time seemed to stop at that moment and I seemed to disappear.

As we were approaching the bottom of the mountain, a drizzle of rain began to fall from the sky. The raindrops fell on the stone steps in patches, making us feel a little dazed. The sound of rain is getting louder and louder. Looking back at the stone steps behind me, the sound of rain gives me the feeling that on the other side of the rain, there is a line of my footprints in the rain, on each side. Emerging on a rainy day, falling into the white depths on the Foding Mountain trail with swaying raindrops.

In front of Putuo Mountain, those things that were originally thought to be very important suddenly became frivolous. What else is worth fussing over, and what else can make one’s heart break. Facing such hugeness and emptiness, facing the void of Sanskrit sounds and thunderous sounds, human beings' little entanglement has become as light as wandering clouds, and they have no idea of ??the end.

Perhaps it is the unique nature and Buddha nature of Mount Putuo, which allows everyone who climbs it to realize a never-before-seen experience from their own life experience. Move and inspire. And let it be part of the strength, part of the faith. When a person's spiritual height is as high as Mount Putuo, the world actually opens up for him.

I seem to have developed a compassionate heart. Is compassion compassion for others? I know that I cannot and cannot have such a broad mind. Maybe my heart can only accommodate my family and friendship. This trip to Putuo is to carry with me all the love I have for my relatives and friends. Those who left with my best wishes, I burned incense and prayed in that Buddhist land of sea and sky, hoping that everything would be well for them.

A person who has lived in the city for a long time and is surrounded by the hustle and bustle all day long will inevitably have a restless heart. Occasionally, a person can climb Mount Putuo and face the beautiful scenery of the Buddha Land of the Sea and Sky, and the deafening sound of the Buddha. With the Sanskrit and Chao sounds, a heart will definitely become calm and peaceful.

A heart can calm down in this impetuous world. No matter in the mountains, in the bustling city, or between the mountains and the bustling city. Then, in this world, it is considered to have achieved great freedom.

From then on, the mountain flowers, Sanskrit sounds and tide sounds that filled the mountains and fields of Putuo Mountain came and went, endlessly, and will linger in my heart from now on.
