The differences between Baishui Dukang and Dukang are:
1. Different origins. Generally speaking, the Dukang we often refer to refers to Luoyang Dukang wine produced in Luoyang. Baishui Dukang wine is produced in Baishui County, Shaanxi Province, hence the name Baishui Dukang.
2. Different fragrance types. Dukang Liquor is a strong-flavor koji liquor. It is made from the natural spring water of Jiuquan where Dukang used to make liquor. It uses high-quality sorghum and wheat as raw materials and uses ancient traditional craftsmanship and modern technology to brew it. It has the characteristics of "clear and transparent". , rich aroma, mellow and sweet, long aftertaste" unique flavor.
Baishui Dukang Liquor is a light-flavor liquor with clear and transparent liquid, pure aroma, sweet entrance, mellow and soft taste, coordinated five flavors, long aftertaste, lingering fragrance after drinking, and unique flavor.
3. The brewing raw materials and processes are different. Luoyang Dukang uses wheat, selected glutinous rice, and sorghum as raw materials, and adopts techniques such as "sealing the cellar with fragrant mud, keeping the temperature as low as a pond, fermenting for a long time, mixing and steaming in the tank, picking the wine by quantity and quality, storing it in grades, and carefully blending".
Baishui Dukang uses local barley, wheat, and peas to make koji, selects Guanzhong sorghum as raw materials, uses old soil mud ponds for fermentation, and combines traditional brewing recipes with modern technology. It is made from cellaring, cellar selection, distillation, blending, etc.
The relationship between Baishui Dukang and Du Kang:
Dukang and Baishui Dukang are stupid and can’t tell the difference. They only know that “Dukang” occupies a high weight in the liquor culture. In fact, Dukang and Baishui Dukang here have a relationship for decades. The word "Baishui" on Dukang's trademark is also caused by historical reasons.
In 1972
Yichuan and Ruyang in Henan and Baishui in Shaanxi successively opened Dukang Distillery and applied for the Dukang trademark. Since there was no trademark registration system at that time and it could only be registered by one company, it was decided that Yichuan Dukang Distillery would register it, and Ruyang and Baishui Dukang Distilleries would be authorized to jointly use the "Dukang" trademark.
In 1983, the "Trademark Law" was implemented and the three companies signed a cooperation agreement. Yichuan Dukang licensed the "Dukang" trademark to the latter two companies.
In 1992
The "Dukang" trademark entered the renewal period, and the three companies once again had disputes over trademark issues, but no coordination results were achieved.
In 1996
After Baishui Dukang’s application, the Trademark Office approved its “Baishui Dukang” trademark. Yichuan Dukang and Ruyang Dukang merged in 2009 and both belong to Luoyang Dukang. The "Dukang" trademark is used by Luoyang Dukang.
