BMW X8 spy photos exposed
Recently, we obtained a set of road test spy photos of BMW’s new SUV model X8 from relevant channels. According to earlier media reports, BMW applied to register the trademarks "X8" and "X8? M" in the United States in 2016. The new car is expected to be unveiled in the second half of 2021 and go on sale in 2022.
From the double kidney-shaped air intake grille on the front of the car, we can tell at a glance that this is a BMW SUV. From the side view, we can see that the front of the X8 is very vertical. Combined with the huge double-kidney grille, I believe the momentum of the front will definitely not disappoint.
Somewhat different from previous predictions is that this heavily camouflaged X8 does not adopt the classic large fastback coupe SUV shape of the X6 or X4, but is closer to the flat and downward slope of the X2 roof. And from the rising waistline and window line, as well as the smaller "Huo's corner", it can be predicted that the shape of the new car is lower and more dynamic than the X7.
The "Hybrid? Test Vehicle" label on the side door hints at the car's powertrain. It is expected that the powertrain of this test car is the same as the BMW 745e released at the Geneva Motor Show last year, equipped with an inline 6-cylinder It is a gasoline engine + electric motor hybrid combination. The engine has a maximum horsepower of 286Ps, the electric motor has a rated power of 113Ps, and a rated torque of 265N·m. It is matched with an 8-speed automatic manual gearbox.
It is understood that the X8?M is also coming soon. Its electric twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine is expected to have a maximum output of 750Ps. BMW's new flagship SUV will be available to meet us soon.
BAIC New Energy’s September sales dropped by nearly 80%
BAIC New Energy has always been at the top of the new energy sales list in previous years. Relying on subsidies and local government support, although the car is average, its sales performance is not bad. However, as the competition in the new energy market becomes increasingly fierce, BAIC, which has no core competitiveness, has begun to decline rapidly.
Recently, BAIC Blue Valley released the latest sales data of its subsidiary Beijing New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. BAIC New Energy sold 2,245 vehicles in September, a year-on-year decrease of 77.57. Sales in the same period last year were 10,009 vehicles; September production There were only 221 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 56.99. The cumulative sales from January to September were 21,086 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 78.57; the output from January to September was 22,753 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 56.59.
On the one hand, the sales volume of BAIC New Energy has plummeted, but on the other hand, the sales volume of the new energy market has been booming across the board, which is in sharp contrast. According to the latest retail sales data from the Passenger Car Association, 111,000 new energy narrow passenger vehicles were sold in September, a year-on-year increase of 84.2% and a month-on-month increase of 18.5%; cumulative sales were 601,000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 19.3%.
Industry insiders believe that BAIC New Energy’s sales have stagnated mainly because its products are seriously unattractive and have barely cultivated the personal consumption market. It mainly relies on B-end market users (such as online ride-hailing companies). Just under the influence of the epidemic, the development of travel companies was hindered, causing BAIC New Energy's sales to plummet.
Data show that BAIC New Energy sold 151,000 vehicles in 2019. According to incomplete statistics, more than 60% of the orders may come from industry customers. In the online car-hailing market, BAIC New Energy has obtained approximately 80,000 EU5 orders through cooperation; in the taxi market, BAIC New Energy operates 13,000 battery-replacement taxis in 15 cities across the country.
Now that without the support of major online ride-hailing customers, BAIC New Energy’s life will not be easy.
Ideal official response to rear-end collision accident
On the evening of September 22, a Lideal ONE in the Qingdao area had a serious rear-end collision with a truck on the G18 Expressway. According to the determination of the traffic control department : Large trucks bear full responsibility for merging illegally.
A few days ago, Li Auto issued a statement in response to issues such as the deformation of the vehicle's A-pillar, airbags, and assisted driving in the accident.
The following is Ideal Official’s explanation of the rear-end collision:
Regarding this accident, Ideal Official basically placed the responsibility on the unsafe driving of the large truck and the owner of the vehicle.
In fact, for the automatic driving promoted by major manufacturers, not only Ideal, but also the hidden dangers of safety accidents due to various unreasonable settings. I only hope that if automatic driving is not yet possible, please ask the manufacturers. Don't mislead users in publicity. Assisted driving can only be assisted driving and cannot represent autonomous driving. Consumers should also pay attention to this issue and put driving safety first.
