Murong Yao (? -386), one is Murong Wang, the monarch of Xiyan during the Sixteen Kingdoms period, a Xianbei native and the son of Mu Rongchong, the emperor of Xiyan. In 386, there were several coups in Xiyan, and Murong Yao was taken care of by his left servant Murong Heng, who made him Emperor Yan and rebuilt Ping, but all the people left Murong Yao and defected to Murong Yong, a senior minister. Soon Murong Yao was captured and killed by Murong Yong.
