ThinkPad, named "thinkbook" in Chinese, was a portable computer brand under the IBM PC division before 2005, and enjoyed a high reputation in the industry for its solid and reliable characteristics. After Lenovo acquired the IBM PC division, the ThinkPad trademark was owned by Lenovo.
IdeaPad, whose Chinese name is "Thinking Book", is a notebook brand launched by Lenovo in 2008. The purpose is to make up for the vacancy in the international market after the failed acquisition of Packard Bell, the fourth largest PC manufacturer in Europe. It is defined as a consumer-grade product (corresponding to the business-grade ThinkPad), replacing the international LENOVO3000 series and the domestic Tianyi series.
