Yudian Town Yudian Town is located in the northwest of Guangshui City, on the east bank of Xianjuemiao Reservoir, and faces Zengdu District of Suizhou City in the west. It was merged from the original Xinglong Township and Yudian Town in April 2005. It was established as a key municipal central town. The town has jurisdiction over 39 administrative villages and 390 villager groups, with a total number of 16,486 households and a total population of 69,000. The existing cultivated land area is 44,860 acres and the land area is 248 square kilometers. In 2005, the total industrial and agricultural output value was 497 million yuan, fiscal revenue was 5.11 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers reached 2,898 yuan.
The main local products of Yudian Town include Sanbai vegetables (white cucumber, white eggplant, Chinese cabbage), early-ripening watermelon, black fungus, white cantaloupe, golden melon, citrus, native chicken, etc. Among them, Sanbai vegetables were awarded the "Green Food" certificate by the National Green Food Development Center in 2004, and the Yudian brand trademark was registered; Yudian is rich in mineral resources, with large reserves of dolomite, talc, limestone, magnets, metal magnesium, Copper and other minerals contain higher grades.
Yudian Town implements the strategic decision of "stabilizing the town through agriculture, strengthening the town through industry, and building a bright town through urban construction". The cultivation of "three white vegetables" and yellow-skinned melons, the breeding of native chickens and laying ducks, the cultivation of black fungus and white mushrooms, and the cultivation of citrus and other fruit trees are showing a trend of characteristic, professional and regional development. Vigorously attracting investment, 13 companies have been established, including three companies with investments of more than 10 million yuan. Chuwang Fireworks series products have passed ISO international quality system certification, and gradually formed four pillar industries such as food, weaving, knitting, and fireworks.
Yudian Town has an active cultural life, with traditional folk performances such as dragon lanterns, stilts, waist drums, and operas. The education industry is booming, with three junior high schools and 4,500 junior high school students. The reform of rural cooperative medical care is advancing steadily, with 56,000 farmers participating, and the participation rate reaching 80%.
