In my country's current legal regulations, there are no clear laws, regulations or departmental rules that provide for seven-day no-reason returns for goods purchased in physical stores. If there is a dispute, you can file a complaint with the Industrial and Commercial Bureau where the seller is located. If it is purchased online, the seller of the product should implement a seven-day no-questions-asked return policy, except for products that are not applicable to seven-day no-questions-asked returns.
1. Is there a legal basis for a seven-day no-reason return in a physical store? There is no legal basis for a seven-day no-reason return in a physical store. At present, the after-sales service of physical stores in my country implements the "National Three Guarantees Regulations", that is, the products are sold by themselves. If a performance failure occurs within 7 days from the date of shipment, consumers can choose to return, exchange or repair the product, unless there are additional agreements. In other words, unless the merchant promises, there are no laws or regulations that require returns. The "Consumer Rights Protection Law" stipulates that returns can be returned within seven days without any reason, which only applies to online purchases and does not apply to physical stores.
2. Relevant legal provisions "Interim Measures for the Seven-Day Return of Goods Purchased Online without Reason" Article 3: Online product sellers shall fulfill their seven-day obligation to return goods without reason in accordance with the law. Online trading platform providers should guide and urge online product sellers on the platform to fulfill their seven-day unreasonable return obligation, conduct supervision and inspection, and provide technical support. Article 6: The seven-day no-reason return rule does not apply to the following products: (1) Products customized by consumers; (2) Fresh and perishable products; (3) Audio-visual products and computers downloaded online or opened by consumers Software and other digital commodities; (4) Delivered newspapers and periodicals. Article 7: The seven-day no-reason return rule does not apply to the following goods that have been confirmed by the consumer at the time of purchase: (1) Goods that are likely to affect personal safety or life and health after being opened, or that are likely to cause damage to the quality of the goods after being opened Products that have changed; (2) Products that have greatly depreciated in value once activated or tried out; (3) Products that are nearing their shelf life and defective products that have been clearly stated at the time of sale. Article 8: Goods returned by consumers must be in good condition. If the product can maintain its original quality and functions, and the product itself, accessories, and trademarks are complete, it is deemed to be in good condition. Consumers opening product packaging based on inspection needs, or conducting reasonable adjustments to confirm the quality and function of the product will not affect the integrity of the product. It should be noted that although my country has issued relevant regulations on returns within 7 days without any reason, this only applies to online shopping. Therefore, there is no legal basis for returns in physical stores within 7 days without any reason. But generally speaking, if consumers find that there are certain problems with the goods, they can actually return or exchange them after negotiating with the store.
