After the trademark application is submitted, the Mexican Trademark Office will review the application. Trademark applications will be subject to formal and substantive examination.
Within 10 days from the date of trademark application, the trademark will be published in the official gazette for objection. The publicity period for the third party's possible objection is one month. Mexico's objection procedure is different, because the objection will not block the trademark. The applicant's failure to reply to the objection does not mean giving up the application, but only means that the Trademark Office will make a decision on the objection trademark through registration or rejection.
After the objection period, the trademark will be approved for registration. The whole process will take about 4 to 8 months.
