In the 1970s, a professor from Zhejiang Agricultural University named it Dongkui bayberry, which means "the top of the East". The large fruit is rare in the world and is currently the largest. The largest bayberry in my country and even the world is known as the "Yangmei King"!
Huangyan Dongkui bayberry is the main industry of Huangyan, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is also the largest fruit variety of bayberry in my country and even in the world. In 1998, Dongkui Bayberry was awarded the Zhejiang Province Gold Medal for High-Quality Agricultural Products. In 1999, it was recognized as a famous brand product by the Beijing International Agricultural Expo. Our district attaches great importance to quality brands and is applying for a registered trademark for Dongkui Bayberry. A set of Dongkui Bayberry series standards has been formulated and has been promulgated and implemented. In October 2001, Huangyan was named the "Hometown of Bayberry in China" by the State Forestry Administration.
