Lai Mao, also known as Maotai Lai Mao. Laimao liquor is produced exclusively in Moutai Town, Renhuai City, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, China. It is one of the Moutai series of liquors and a national strategic single product that Moutai strives to create in its "133 Strategy".

On March 15, 2014, Moutai Group issued a statement stating that the "Laimao" trademark was a registered trademark of Moutai Company. Only the Lai Mao liquor produced by "Kweichow Moutai Liquor Co., Ltd." can be called Lai Mao liquor, and other manufacturers are all counterfeit and infringing products.

The development history of Lai Maotai liquor:

In 1929, Guiyang businessman Zhou Bingheng opened the "Hengchang Liquor House" in Maotai Village and named the produced liquor "Hengchang Moutai" .

In 1935, the Red Army went on a long march to Chishui and drank Laimao wine. After successfully crossing the river, it was called "Jiejie wine".

In 1941, Guiyang Lai Yongchu took over the winery and changed its name to "Hengxing Winery", and "Hengchang Moutai" was also renamed "Laimao".

On October 10, 1945, the two parties of the Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China signed the "Double Ten Agreement" and entertained them with Laimao liquor.

On October 1, 1949, at the "First Banquet of the Founding of the People's Republic of China", more than one hundred bottles of Laimao liquor were served to entertain Chinese and foreign guests to celebrate the founding of the People's Republic of China.

In 1951, the People's Government of Renhuai County, Guizhou Province purchased "Chengyi Distillery" and at the same time took over "Ronghe Distillery" to form a state-owned enterprise. The factory was named Guizhou Provincial Monopoly Company Renhuai Moutai winery.

In 1953, the "Laimao" trademark, as the intangible assets and industrial property rights of Hengxing Distillery, was transferred to Moutai Group at a discount along with other properties of Hengxing Distillery. Since then, it has formed the "Lai Mao" brand in the history of Moutai liquor. "Wang Mao", "Hua Mao" and "Lai Mao" are the objective facts of "the unification of the three Mao".

In 1988, Kweichow Moutai Distillery applied for the registration of the "Laimao" trademark and was approved to register it, enjoying the exclusive rights to the trademark;

On March 16, 2005, Moutai Distillery was After three years of cessation of use, the "Laimao" trademark was revoked by the Trademark Office. On March 29 of the same year, Moutai Distillery Co., Ltd. once again submitted an application for registration of the "Laimao" trademark;

In January 2014, Beijing The Municipal Higher People's Court made a final judgment and determined that the "Laimao" trademark belongs to Moutai Group. In October of the same year, Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd. and Sinopec Yijie Sales Co., Ltd. jointly established Kweichow Laimao Liquor Co., Ltd. to operate Laimao brand series products in the national market.
