State Administration for Industry and Commerce of the People's Republic of China, SAIC), referred to as the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, is an agency directly under the State Council that conducts market supervision and management and related administrative law enforcement in accordance with laws and regulations.

According to the "Notice of the State Council on Institutional Establishment" (Guofa [2008] No. 11), the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (at the ministerial level) was established.

In March 2018, according to the institutional reform plan of the State Council approved by the first session of the 13th National People's Congress, the responsibilities of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce were integrated to form the People's Communist Party of China and the State Administration of Industry and Commerce. State Administration for Market Regulation; integrate the trademark management responsibilities of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce and reorganize the State Intellectual Property Office of the People's Republic of China; no longer retain the State Administration for Industry and Commerce.
