Which brush is better to buy?

There is no best brush, only the best brush for you.

Writing brushes are generally divided into three types of pens -

1. Wolf hair: a pen made of weasel hair. It has strong elasticity, and the tip of the brush will feel a little hard to the touch after it is spread out.

2. Sheep hair: a pen made of sheep hair. Weak elasticity, soft

3. Combined hair: Use the hair of two or more animals to make a pen. It has the characteristics of wolf hair and sheep hair. It is not as hard as wolf hair and not as soft as sheep hair.

When choosing calligraphy brushes, we still follow the evaluation criteria of the ancients - "pointed, round, neat and healthy".

Point: When the pen hairs are gathered together, the end should be pointed so that the writing edge can be written.

Round: It means that the pen is round and round like the shape of a date core, which shows that the hair is sufficient. On the contrary, the pen is flat and thin, and lacks writing power.

Qi: After the pen is opened, the length of the pen should be consistent inside and outside.

Healthy: It means that the pen hair should be elastic and the writing force should be strong and strong. When the pen is pressed down, the brush hair spreads out; when the pen is lifted, the brush hair naturally returns to its condensed state. A bad pen cannot come together after being pressed, indicating that there are many stray hairs and weak writing power.

For beginners, I recommend using a brush with both brushes and brushes. Sheep Wolf brushes with brushes

In fact, the key to the definition of a good brush depends on the user’s own experience. Many times, a pen that a calligrapher thinks is easy to use may not be able to be used by you, or you may not find it easy to use, because your previous writing skills and feel are different. If you feel that your brush writes smoothly and comfortably, it is actually a good brush!

Whenever we encounter a pen that we like and find useful, we should cherish it and work harder. Any good pen is the result of the hard work of the pen maker. We must learn to cherish it. A good brush, take good care of it. Every time you finish your daily lessons, you should clean the pen and hang it vertically with the tip down. This can extend the life of the brush! Be sure to remember!
