The China Tennis Open was established in 2014. In 2009, the men's event of the China Tennis Open was adjusted to be one of the ten "500-point events" behind the four Grand Slams and nine "1,000-point events", while the women's event was adjusted to be second only to the four Grand Slams. The China Tennis Open is a professional tennis tour held in Beijing, China. The first year of the event was 2004.
