1. In ancient times, the He and Mei tribes of the Naxi people lived in the first bay of the Yangtze River. The leaders fought for each other and refused to admit defeat. Brutal fighting occurred year after year, resulting in casualties of humans and animals. , the villages fell into ruin, the innocent souls cried out, the rivers overflowed, and the gods couldn't bear to see it. At night, they sent the god Ding to transform into a gray-haired old woman, and beat the stone drum from the north of Yulong Mountain to mediate the fight and save the innocent souls.
The old woman walked for a while and beat the drum. When the warriors of the two tribes heard the sound of the drum, they involuntarily stopped their weapons and joined hands to make peace. The injured souls of the deceased were comforted and the evil waves calmed down. When she carried the ancient drum to the Chongjiang River, she rested and played three times. Suddenly the rooster crowed at dawn, and Shen Ding hurried back, leaving the stone drum there forever.
At the junction of Shiguchong River and Jinsha River, there is a pillar about ten meters high. People call it "General Guillotine Stone". There is also a place where Dayu's boats were parked on the mountain behind. There is also a legend. In ancient times, the Jinsha River flowed into the Shigu area, surrounded by mountains and had no outlet. The river water rose day by day, making it difficult for the people to survive.
Just when Qi Dayu came here to control the flood, he parked his boat at the top of Wangjiang Mountain and looked at the mountains. He saw two snowy mountains in the northeast corner, which were uninhabited. He decided to dredge from there and sent the most powerful troops with him. The brave general went to carve out the mountain. The general had been there for a long time, but there was no movement. Dayu personally inspected the situation. It turned out that the general was helping Dayu control the floods day and night. He was overworked and fell asleep in the middle of the night, which delayed the important event.
Dayu was furious and wanted to behead him. The general felt extremely remorseful and generously asked for his life, willing to smash the snow-capped mountains with his head. Dayu couldn't bear it, but he had to agree to his request. He raised his sword and the general's head rolled into a ball of fire into the river.
It dispersed the river water, broke away the silt, and slammed it on the cliff between Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain. Suddenly there was thunder and lightning, and a passage was opened between the two snow mountains. The river surged away, forming a Thousands of people were saved from danger. The general turned to stone. In order to commemorate him, Dayu made a head-shaped round stone and embedded it in the stone body.
2. Regarding the origin of the New Year, there is a legend along the Jinsha River in Lijiang. It tells that in ancient times, a master and a disciple achieved righteousness and went out to govern the world. When we arrived at the foot of a mountain, the teacher Mingfo saw a rag hanging from a tree and hung it in a well, and asked his apprentice Ji Riliang to pick it up. Ji Riliang said, "What would an emperor do with a rag?"
The teacher picked it up and put it into the basket himself. inside. After walking for a while, I saw a rope on the side of the road. The teacher asked the apprentice to pick it up again. Ji Riliang said, "You don't need a rope to become an emperor." The teacher picked it up and put it into the basket. When I reached the top of the mountain, I saw a hunter's teapot hanging on the tree. The apprentice refused to pick it up, so the teacher picked it up and put it into the basket himself. When the two of them were tired from walking, they went to play in the wild and simmer tea.
The teacher looked for firewood to make a fire, and asked the apprentice to look for water. On the lucky day, no drop of water was found. The teacher dug a hole by the pond, and water came up. Just as the tea was simmering, it suddenly started raining heavily. The teacher hung the teapot on a tree with a rope and turned into a fly and hid in the teapot. Ji Riliang had nowhere to hide, so he turned into a rabbit and squeezed into the pot. After hiding, his head was exposed and his tail was exposed. He was soaked in the rain all night and his feet were bruised.
The next day, the apprentice’s foot hurt and it was difficult to walk. The master used the rags he picked to bandage him. Tomorrow Buddha saw that his disciple was neither capable nor lazy, and just wanted to sit back and enjoy the blessings of the emperor, so he said: "We don't have the ability to govern the world yet, let's go back." Ji Riliang was unwilling to accept it, and said: "Whose tea bowl has camellia blooming? Who will become the emperor in the world?"
The two of them cooked tea and waited. A camellia bloomed in the master's bowl. Ji Riliang quietly picked it and put it in his own bowl, and said hurriedly: "I will be the emperor!" Tomorrow Buddha knew that his disciple had evil intentions, but he couldn't tell him clearly, so he only told him: "If you become emperor, there will be many robbers and thieves, so you must manage them well... I will make a show for you in the first fifteen days of every year, and you will be responsible for it after fifteen days." You can manage it yourself."
So, from the first to the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, the Buddha of Tomorrow will manage the world, and the auspicious day will be in charge from now on. If the auspicious sun is bright and the merits are insufficient, the rich will be rich and the poor will be poor, and life will be unsettled. Until the first month, under the management of the wise Buddha Tomorrow, people eat meat every day, wear new clothes, and live a happy life. These fifteen days are called the New Year.
3. Legend has it that on the Mengshi Mountain in Lashiba, there grows a hawthorn tree with branches and leaves spread out like an umbrella canopy. This hawthorn tree looks so weird that two people cannot hug each other. Its thick tree body is bent like an old man's waist, and its stretched branches are like horned dragons crawling in all directions. Its shade area is more than ninety square meters.
On this magical and strange hawthorn tree, more than a dozen pairs of Naxi young people hang their necks to die in love every year. It is a love-death tree that is known far and wide.
In ancient times, Yuzua, the god of love, planted this tree while eating hawthorn fruits. Later, when the hawthorn tree grew as thick as a bowl, Tulku Yule and Kaimei Jiuming secretly fell in love with each other.
But their marriage was obstructed by their parents. Tulku Yule and Kaimei Jiuming encountered obstacles in their marriage. They were bewitched by Yuzu Azu, the god of love, and made an appointment. Wanting to go to heaven, they both hanged their necks on this hawthorn tree and died in love.
From then on, when the young men and women in the village encountered unsatisfactory marriages, they thought that they could not burn the same fire pit together when they were alive, and they would be buried in the same pit after death. With a long-cherished wish, they both bit their fingers, dripped the blood together, and vowed never to look back. They both secretly escaped from the house and came to the hawthorn tree.
Imitating the long life of Tulku Yule and Kaimei, they both hanged their necks and died on this hawthorn tree. Such young men and women who commit suicide for love have more than ten pairs of lovers every year.
There was a lonely old man in Mengshi Village. This lonely old man’s mother-in-law died of excessive bleeding during confinement, but a baby as big as a kitten was left beside the fire pond. The lonely old man became a father and a mother, and he grew up the baby.
The son of the lonely old man has grown up. Not only is his son handsome, he can also sing a lot of love songs that can stir up the hearts of girls, making the girls in the mountains laugh and reward him all day long. shadows flying.
The lonely old man frowned as he listened to the sweet laughter of the girls. Young men and women of the Naxi ethnic group are free to fall in love, but marriage must be decided by their parents. Will this unrestrained laughter create an irreparable gap in the hearts of the son and the father? Will the son abandon his father and follow the woman? To die for love with laughter? The lonely old man couldn't help but shudder.
He thought: The eggs without the strings were rolling around randomly. It would be strange if the eggs rolling down the ground would not shatter. No more delay, put a rope on this egg earlier!
On this day, the lonely old man and his son were sitting around the fire pit, simmering morning tea. The lonely old man said in a trembling voice: "Son, look at my father's temples covered with snow. You are also trying to fly in the sky. Bird, Abba is thinking of getting you a wife, so you should apply oil on your forehead as soon as possible."
"Abba, you can get a wife, but you have to rely on your son."
"Yes, yes, you can do it according to the ten conditions."
"Abba, I am not willing to marry the cousin of your aunt who you are planning to marry."
"What, what?" the father shouted in panic.
"Abba, you can only marry the person you like when you want a wife. If you don't marry the person you like, I will be a bachelor for the rest of my life."
Abba, regardless of his son's objections, plans to marry his son in Laba Have a wedding. But the son fell in love with the one he liked in free love, and the girl had the fruit of love in her belly. What should he do if his father forced him to get married? The son went to find the girl quietly. He couldn't disobey his father's orders. Arranged marriage was an option. There is a rope around the neck, and the two of them meet to die in love.
Time soon arrived on the seventh day of the twelfth lunar month. Tomorrow my father forced his son to apply forehead oil. He killed the fat pig, soaked the rice, brewed wine, and washed the vegetables. Relatives and friends were busy in the house. Tomorrow's happy event is as busy as an ant on a hot pot. That very night, the son made an appointment with the person he loved, and they both escaped from the village and died in love by hanging themselves from the love tree.
When the sun just emerged from Dongshan, the lonely old man got up and urged his son to get up quickly. But Abba's shout passed and there was no response from the inner room. The lonely old man thought his son was angry with him.
He walked into the house and touched the bed. The bed was cold. He didn't know where his only son had gone. The lonely old man was covered in cold sweat. Could it be that he...he died in love.
The lonely old man staggered out of the inner room and cried out in a mournful voice: "Oh, my only son has been hit. He died of love."
The lonely old man beat his chest and stamped his feet. The crying and howling alarmed the villagers and they ran out one after another. When everyone heard clearly that the son of the lonely old man had escaped, everyone had a premonition that his son had died for his love. People searched for the dead man's son and his lover under the tree of love, and found the old man's son and his lover hanging stiffly on the hawthorn tree with their necks strangled.
Alas, the happy event turned into a funeral. The lonely old man saw his only son die in love. He was like a drunken maniac. He cursed the unlucky ghost on the love tree. His son was taken away. Full of resentment, he took an ax from home, ran to the hawthorn tree that had taken away his son's soul, spread his legs, swung the ax, and struck the hawthorn tree with the axe. go.
The lonely old man suddenly noticed a flash of lightning-like light flying up from the tree. Suddenly, the mountains and the ground shook, and a faint cry came from the darkness.
When people calmed down, droplets of blood emerged from the ax mouth on the hawthorn tree, and a choking smoke rolled up from the ax mouth, and bursts of tearing sound came from the smoke. The cry of the heart. People looked at each other in horror. Suddenly, a horrified shout came from the crowd: "Hey, the old man has fainted."
When people recovered from the shouts, they found that the old man was foaming at the mouth and passed out on the ground. . At night, green will-o'-the-wisps flickered slowly around the lonely old man's house. Sometimes the will-o'-the-wisps dispersed, and sometimes they circled around the house, and there was also the faint cry of the cold ghost.
At this time, the lonely old man struggled to get up by the fire pit. His eyes were cloudy and cold, and he pointed his hand at the door in horror and shouted: "Here it comes, here it comes, my The son is here."
The old man convulsed in pain, and then lay down stiffly. He rolled his eyes, foamed at the mouth, and was trembling all over. He said intermittently: "Here he comes, he comes, my son is here..."
In the middle of the night, the lonely old man screamed in terror, kicked his feet, and died. It was found that there were five rings of purple marks on the neck of the lonely old man. The villagers said that the old man cut down the love tree and offended the love ghost (legend has it that young men and women who fell in love on the hawthorn tree had their bodies on their backs. Holding this tree, cutting down the tree is equivalent to cutting down its soul), and he was strangled to death by the lovers.
From then on, people no longer dared to cut down the hawthorn tree. Some people also said that if you pass by the love tree at night, you will find a fire burning under the tree. A group of young people Men and women dance the "Armonda" song and dance around the hawthorn tree. It is the love-dead ghost who guards their substitute love-dead tree. The death-of-love tree became a sacred tree, and it grew more and more lush.
4. Legend has it that since Emperor Hongwu of the Ming Dynasty gave the Naxi leader Ade the surname Mu, the chieftain of the Mu family often paid tribute to the court. Seeing the majestic walls inside and outside the capital, he came up with the idea of ??building a city wall in Lijiang. .
As soon as this order spread, the people of Lijiang complained incessantly. Due to successive years of disasters, food became a problem, and they had to be forced to work hard, which made it worse and miserable. After a scholar by the river heard about it, he rushed to King Mu's Mansion overnight. The first thing he asked after seeing him was: "Does the master want to destroy himself?"
Wang Mu was stunned for a while, but after he came to his senses, he asked They shouted loudly: "What kind of crazy person can make such lies? I'll give you a chance to explain yourself. If you can't explain why, you will have no chance of getting back!" The scholar said calmly: "Princess Mu The people who govern Lijiang and live in the city are all made of wood. If you build a city to surround it, wouldn't it be a "trap"?
This will make you trapped. If you are trapped for a long time, you will die! I hope you will think again." After thinking about it, Mu thought it was reasonable, so he rewarded the scholar generously and hired him as a staff member. The people of Lijiang also escaped and all praised him.
In fact, the reason why the ancient city of Lijiang did not build a city wall is closely related to Lijiang’s geography, military, and economy. The chieftains of Lijiang were deeply appreciated by the imperial court, and could rule the roost with peace of mind. They could live in harmony with the neighboring local governments such as Tubo, Nanzhao, and Dali, without worrying about war. The mountains and rivers surrounding the ancient city of Lijiang formed a natural barrier.
There is a square square in the center of the ancient city, called "Sifang Street". For hundreds of years, Sifang Street has been the largest trade market in northwest Yunnan. According to Qianlong's "Lijiang Prefecture Chronicles": "Merchants who sell goods to Zhongdian must stop here in order to hire people to transport them." It can be seen that Sifang Street was the most important economic hub at that time.
In the minds of the Naxi people, the ancient city of Lijiang is an open village and market town. It is closely connected with the life of every Naxi people. The streets and alleys seem to bring people together on this land. Rivers nurture the most primitive culture of this town.
Walking on the bluestone road that has been preserved for thousands of years in the ancient city of Lijiang, the crushed soil beside the flower bed slowly fell with the afterglow of dusk. After reflecting the entire earth, it gurgled under the big stone bridge. After looking at the most beautiful scenery in the dreams of our ancient ancestors for a long time, we may occasionally get lost, but walking in this ancient town without city walls, just like the glory in childhood, guides us, and we will always find the direction.
5. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain rise between the rivers, forming a grand canyon with a depth of three to four thousand meters and a length of 12 kilometers. The Jinsha River passes through the gorge, forming seven waterfalls. Eighteen dangerous shoals, the sound of water is like dragons roaring and tigers roaring, this is the famous Tiger Leaping Gorge. The legend about it is unexpected, like a soft and beautiful lyric poem; Jinsha River, Nu River, Lancang River, Yulong Mountain and Haba Mountain were originally five brothers and sisters.
When the three sisters grew up, they met to choose a son-in-law. Their parents were anxious and angry, so they ordered Yulong and Haba to chase them. Jade Dragon, armed with thirteen swords, and Haba, armed with twelve bows, took a small road to Lijiang. They sat face to face and took turns waiting, and made an agreement: Whoever spared the three sisters would be beheaded. When it was Haba's turn to guard, Jade Dragon had just fallen asleep when the Jinshajiang girl came.
When she saw her two brothers blocking the way, she lowered her head and thought carefully, then stepped very lightly. Suddenly her heart lit up, and she sang a sweet and touching song. Haba, who was guarding the gate, was so fascinated by the song that she gradually fell asleep. She sang and walked, singing eighteen songs in a row, and finally passed through the limbs of her two brothers. As soon as she came out of the pass, she ran away laughing loudly with joy.
When Yulong woke up and saw this scene, he was angry and sad. He was angry that the Jinsha girl had gone away, and he was sad that the Haba brothers were going to be beheaded. He could not violate the agreement, so he slowly drew out his long sword and chopped off the sleeping Haba's head. Then he turned his back and cried bitterly. The two tears turned into white water and black water, and Haba's twelve bows turned into twenty bows on both sides of the Tiger Leaping Gorge. After four turns, Haba's head fell into the river and turned into a tiger leaping stone.
There is another legend: There is a large gold mine in the upper reaches of the Jinsha River. God sent a magic worker to dig for gold. Year after year, the magic worker missed his mother and asked God to allow him to go back to visit. But the God did not allow it, saying: "The gold dug is not enough for the human world. We can only go out when we have dug enough." The gold digger was very angry and said to himself: "Let those who want gold in the world go to the river to fish." ”
After saying that, he threw all the dug gold into the river. People in the Jinsha River should go fishing in the river. After saying that, he scattered all the gold he dug into the river. There was gold in the Jinsha River and people were not allowed to dig for gold. The man with the Jade Dragon asked the devil for comment. The devil said arrogantly, "I will eat anyone who takes a step toward the river." allow! ”
The two brothers were furious and waved their swords to fight with the devil. Unfortunately, Brother Hazao’s head was cut off by the devil. The Jade Dragon fought with the devil for three days and three nights, and thirteen swords were cut off in a loud noise. , and finally drove away the devil.
From then on, the Haba brothers became the headless Haba Snow Mountain. In order to guard against the enemy, the Jade Dragon Man held up thirteen swords day and night, which later became thirteen snow mountains. Peak, and the sweat of his battle turned into endless black water, white water and three thoughts water.
