Jixian County, located at the southern end of Luliang Mountain, belongs to the gully region of the Loess Plateau, with a forest coverage rate of 45%. The planting area of apples in the county has reached 260,000 mu, and the per capita of farmers is more than 3 mu, which is the highest in the country.

At present, the annual output of apples in Jixian County has reached more than 67 million kilograms, and its "Hukou" Red Fuji apple has become a well-known brand at home and abroad, selling well in dozens of cities and regions such as Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and exporting to Russia, Western Europe, South Asia and other countries and regions.

In recent years, some fruit merchants and farmers in Jixian County have built modified atmosphere storage warehouses for apples, with a storage capacity of 20 million kilograms, realizing the pattern of seasonal production and annual sales of apples.
