There are two kinds of applications for international renewal: one is the renewal of single foreign trademark, and the other is the renewal of Madrid international trademark registration.
According to the regulations, the renewal period of international registration of trademarks is 10 year. Within 6 months before the expiration of the validity period, including the expiration date. If the registrant fails to apply for renewal before the expiration of the validity period, there will be another grace period of six months. If no application for renewal is filed within the grace period, the International Bureau shall cancel the registration of the international trademark. If an application is filed within the above time limit, the international note of the trademark may be renewed for 10 years.
After receiving the application for renewal, the International Bureau shall conduct an examination. If it meets the requirements, it shall be registered in its register and announced, and the application shall be sent to the competent authority of the designated party. The competent authorities of designated contracting parties shall continue to protect internationally registered trademarks.
Fees include official fees and agency fees.
