Li Jingwei’s resume

Born in 1939 in Sanshui District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province.

Jianlibao Beverage Factory was founded in 1984.

In 1990, he joined forces with Li Ning to establish the "Li Ning" sports brand.

In 1994, the world's first planet named after a company was named "Sanshui Jianlibao Star".

In 1998, he was elected as a deputy to the National People's Congress.

In January 2002, after Jianlibao was acquired by Zhejiang State Investment Corporation, he was recommended as chairman of the board of directors of Jianlibao Group.

On October 13, 2002, he was dismissed as a representative of the National People's Congress.

On November 2, 2011, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison and his personal property of RMB 150,000 was confiscated.

Died of illness in his hometown at 13:56 on April 22, 2013, at the age of 74. When he was still in his mother's belly, his father died in the war. Because his mother was unable to raise him, he was placed in an orphanage in Dongshan District, Guangzhou. When he was a little older, he began to make a living on his own. He polished people's shoes, worked as a printer, and fanned wealthy people in the theater. He never went to school for a day.

In the 1970s, because of his fondness for playing ball, Li Jingwei was spotted by the County Sports Committee and promoted to the County Sports Committee as deputy director. A few years later, he was transferred by the county government to Sanshui Winery. Factory director. At this time, Li Jingwei was 36 years old. He carried rice wine on his back every day and went to Foshan and Guangzhou to sell it door to door. At that time, the maximum output value of this small winery was only 1.3 million yuan. When Li Jingwei successfully founded Jianlibao, he used borrowing three times in a row.

First time borrowing - to study the recipe.

Li Jingwei, who was still the director of the winery, knew nothing about sports drinks at that time. He thought: To make such high-end beverages and high-tech products, we must have high-end talents. It is impossible for me, Li Jingwei, to do it alone. what to do? You have to find someone who knows the business. As a result, he found Ouyang Xiao from the Guangdong Sports Research Institute. He said to Ouyang Xiao: Let's work together. You study the formula of this drink, I organize the production and be responsible for marketing, and we share the profits. So, they reached a cooperation agreement. After more than 100 experiments, Ouyang Xiao finally developed the formula of Jianlibao. This was his first time borrowing—borrowing his brain from someone else.

Second borrowing - marketing promotion.

The product formula is out, how to bring it to the market? Li Jingwei has a formula: because it is a sports drink, it must first enter the sports games, and then the sports games will promote it to the market. One day, he heard the news: the AFC will hold a meeting at the White Swan Hotel in Guangzhou, and the chairman of the AFC will attend the meeting. Li Jingwei thought: This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We must find a way to put drinks on this conference table. Everyone doesn’t know that Jianlibao at that time was not like Jianlibao now. It was simply an “ugly duckling” with nothing but the formula. If you want to ascend to this elegant place, you must at least have a can or something. what to do? He went to the Shenzhen Pepsi Cola Factory, borrowed some empty cans, filled them with the prepared Jianlibao, put a label on it, and put it on the AFC conference table through his connections. At the same time, Li Jingwei asked a photographer to help him and talked to him face to face. The reporter had a clear understanding. The reporter stayed next to the AFC chairman, staring closely at his every move (he might be drinking, but he was also Maybe he doesn’t drink, but once he drinks...) When the AFC president picked up the can and wanted to drink, the reporter went "bah bang..." and started shooting continuously. Zhang, all of them were photographed. Then, he took these photos to promote it and said: So and so drinks Jianlibao, how huge the market potential is. As a result, many dealers were willing to cooperate with him and signed a large number of orders.

The third borrowing - producing products.

Producing Jianlibao is not a simple matter. It costs tens of millions to introduce a production line, have a factory, have workers, managers, purchase raw materials, etc. It takes less than a year and a half to complete this. With all the preparations, this factory couldn't be built, not to mention, Li Jingwei didn't have a penny. what to do? He still borrowed it. How to borrow? He adopts an "intensive management" approach. What is intensive management? To put it simply, he selected a beverage factory to process it. Process according to his recipe requirements. After processing, the Jianlibao label is affixed, and the processing fee is paid after the dealer pays the money.

What are the benefits of this approach? First of all, it does not need to invest, build a factory, recruit personnel, or bear any risks. Even if the goods cannot be sold, it will be a loss for the goods. Unlike some companies, if the product does not sell well, it will be a loss. It will create a huge backlog and bear many expenses, such as company personnel wages, investment in factory equipment, raw material costs, etc., causing great losses to yourself.

This is how "Jianlibao" has become the number one brand in China's beverage industry by relying on the word "borrow". He cleverly borrowed other people's heads, assets, equipment, venues, and technology... In early 1982, a professor named Ouyang Xiao came to Li Jingwei and recommended to him a new type of drink he had researched, which occupied the same market as soft drinks in China. The difference between ordinary carbonated drinks that are mainstream in the market is that ordinary carbonated drinks only play a certain role in taste and reducing heat, but they have no effect on the recovery of human body's physical strength and the replenishment of minerals after drinking. The new alkali-containing electrolyte drink developed by Ouyang Xiao has the advantage of quickly replenishing minerals after sweating, but the disadvantage is that it does not taste as good as ordinary carbonated drinks. If someone invests in in-depth research on this product and combines taste, nutrition and trace element supplementation, it can replace the original ordinary carbonated drinks. So he decided to use the meager profits from his winery as research and development funds for Professor Ouyang Xiao.

At that time, he made two kinds of preparations: if it succeeded, the company would move to a new level; if it failed, the production and operation of the winery would inevitably be greatly negatively affected. After weighing the situation, Li Jingwei believed that the probability of success was 90% and the probability of failure was only 10%. Moreover, if he failed to succeed, he could also use his own connections in the sports world to resell the technology at hand to other manufacturers through alternative means. After hundreds of repeated tests, a new type of drink that combines the three major advantages of taste, nutrition and trace element supplement - "Jianlibao" was finally born. Later, Li Jingwei brought this batch of Jianlibao canned products to the 23rd Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA, and the product became an "instant hit".

Joined hands with Li Ning to establish the "Li Ning" sports brand

The Li Ning sportswear brand that is now famous is also Li Jingwei's creativity. In 1989, Li Jingwei found Li Ning, who was frustrated by the failure of the Seoul Olympics, and invited him to join Jianlibao. In fact, Li Jingwei has a more ambitious plan in mind: to create "Li Ning brand" sportswear. In April 1989, retired Li Ning officially announced that he would join Jianlibao Group as Li Jingwei's special assistant, and officially registered the "Li Ning" trademark. The following year, Jianlibao Sportswear Company was established in Sanshui, Guangdong, specializing in the production and operation of "Li-Ning" sportswear. With the experience of promoting Jianlibao in the Olympic Games, Li Jingwei and Li Ning jointly planned the sports marketing of the 1990 Beijing Asian Games. The first batch of "Li-Ning" sportswear launched was selected as the designated clothing for the torch relay of the 11th Asian Games, the Chinese national team's award-winning uniform and the designated clothing for Chinese and foreign reporters. Since then, "Li Ning" sportswear has become famous. As Li Jingwei continued to grow and develop, the institutional and management chaos that had always existed within Jianlibao also began to emerge. In 1986, after the first restructuring of Jianlibao, the equity structure was as follows: Guangdong Jianlibao Beverage Factory accounted for 60% of Jianlibao Group Company, Macau Nanyue Group Co., Ltd. accounted for 10%, Hong Kong Shunming Enterprise Co., Ltd. accounted for 5%, and Guangxin Enterprise Development Company Accounting for 15%. In this way, Jianlibao became a unique foreign-funded state-owned enterprise. At a time when most companies across the country were still debating whether the director should be the factory director or the secretary, Li Jingwei, who was the director, secretary, and union chairman, had already implemented the "factory director-manager responsibility system" for independent operation.

In 1997, the 38-story Jianlibao Building, which cost 800 million yuan, was completed in Guangzhou, and the company's funds were immediately "weaned"... It survived the ups and downs until 2001, when Jianlibao's "good days" came to an end. : Jianlibao's sales have plummeted, employees' wages cannot be paid, banks have come to collect debts, and Jianlibao has suffered internal and external troubles.

In early 2002, half a year after Jianlibao was acquired by Zhang Hai for 75% of its equity at a price of 338 million yuan, Jianlibao founder Li Jingwei, who was then the honorary chairman of the board of directors, and three vice presidents Li Qingyuan, Yang Shiming, and Ruan Juyuan (Yu Shanfu is at large) were all summoned by the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Sanshui City, Guangdong Province (now Sanshui District, Foshan City) for "suspected transfer of huge amounts of Jianlibao assets" and "double regulations".

Then, according to the Guangdong Provincial Procuratorate at the time, the suspect Li Jingwei, as a staff member entrusted to manage and operate state-owned properties, ignored national laws, colluded with others, and took advantage of his position to embezzle millions of state-owned assets in the form of purchasing life insurance. Yuan, his behavior has violated the relevant provisions of China's criminal law, and the crime is suspected of corruption.

The Zhang Hai era of "Jianlibao" has officially begun. In March 2005, Zhang Hai was detained by the public security organs on suspicion of job embezzlement and misappropriation of funds while working at Jianlibao Group. After two trials by the Foshan Intermediate Court and the Guangdong Provincial High Court, in 2007, Zhang Hai was found guilty of embezzlement and sentenced to 8 years in prison; guilty of misappropriation of funds, sentenced to 5 years in prison; it was decided to execute the 10-year prison term. Year.
