What are the most famous teas in Sichuan?

At present, there is no clear brand identity for Sichuan’s famous teas. The more famous brands include Mengding Mountain Tea, Emei Bamboo Leaf Green Tea, Qingcheng Snow Ya, Sichuan Red Gongfu, Wenjun Green Tea, etc.

(1) Mengding Mountain Tea: Because it is produced at the top of Mengshan Mountain in Mingshan County, Sichuan, it is called "Mengding Mountain Tea". The best quality ones are nectar and yellow buds. From the beginning of the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, Mengding tea was used as tribute tea every year for thousands of years, which is rare in the history of Chinese tea.

(2) Emei Bamboo Leaf Green: It belongs to the green tea category and is produced in Mount Emei, Sichuan Province. The main production areas are Qingyinge, Bailongjian, Wannian Temple and Heishui Temple at an altitude of 800-1200 meters. Tea production in Mount Emei began in the Tang Dynasty. Bamboo Leaf Green was a new tea created in the 1960s. It was named by Chen Yi and started mass production thereafter.

(3) Qingcheng Snow Bud: Produced in Qingcheng Mountain, Sichuan. Qingcheng tea was mentioned in Lu Yu's "The Book of Tea". Tea farms were set up in the Song Dynasty and traditional crafts were formed. Qingcheng Snowya is a new tea created in the 1950s.

(4) Wenjun Green Tea: Produced in Qionglai County, Sichuan, created in 1979. Because there was a good story between Zhuo Wenjun and Sima Xiangru in Qionglai, tea was named to commemorate it. Wenjun green tea is a high-quality famous tea in Sichuan Province.

(5) Sichuan Red Gongfu: Produced in Yibin, Sichuan and other places, it was born in the 1950s and is a rising star of Gongfu black tea. The tea trees here sprout early, and Chuanhong can enter the market in April, winning by being early and fresh. The treasure of Sichuan red is called "Zaobaijian".

The first China International Tea Expo in 2017 announced the results of the selection of "China's Top Ten Regional Public Tea Brands", which are Zhejiang West Lake Longjing, Henan Xinyang Maojian, and Hunan Anhua dark tea, Sichuan Mengding mountain tea, Anhui Liu'an Guapian, Fujian Anxi Tieguanyin, Yunnan Pu'er tea, Anhui Huangshan Maofeng, Fujian Wuyi mountain tea, Guizhou Duyun Maojian.
