On the 16th, Huawei Programming Language Laboratory released a trial registration questionnaire for Huawei’s new language to some developers, and stated that after the questionnaire is completed, follow-up information will be notified via email. According to Huawei’s previous announcements, this “new language” should refer to Huawei’s self-developed programming language “Cangjie” announced at the 2021 Developer Conference.
It is reported that Cangjie is a programming language customized by Huawei based on HarmonyOS. Through Cangjie, Hongmeng and Euler will connect the application development ecosystem and expand the possibilities of the system.
In fact, Huawei started its Cangjie layout a few years ago.
In 2020, Huawei applied to register the "Cangjie Language" trademark. The trademark registration category includes transportation tools, scientific instruments, and website services, indicating that Cangjie's internal development had already begun to take shape at that time.
From the name Cangjie and the familiar story of "Cangjie coined the word", it is not difficult to see Huawei's confidence in this language and the hope it places on it.
At present, Huawei officials have not announced much about the Cangjie language, but some people believe that Cangjie may become the development language of Huawei's Ark compiler, but there is no clear basis for this view.
Although this trial requires a confidentiality process, judging from the development process, it should not take too long to wait before we can get a glimpse of the true content of this self-developed programming language and its actual performance.
