Dunhill (UK)
A thoughtful person could write a thick book about Dunhill. Dunhill pipes are said to be flawless, with no traces of holes, dust fillers or other blemishes to be found. In addition to its extraordinary smoking quality, the pipe also has high potential for collection and appreciation.
In 1907, Alfred Dunhill opened a smoking shop in London. In 1910, the production and sale of pipes began. All pipes are made from the highest quality heather roots and undergo at least more than a hundred independent processes, which take more than three months to complete. As for the famous "White Spot" trademark, it originally had its use value: it was used to identify the upward side of the cigarette holder. After the Great War, Dunhill had established itself as the first choice. It is said that every six months, the pre-selected top-quality hand-made pipes will be personally inspected and graded by Richard Dunhill to ensure quality.
Caminetto
In the late 1960s, two Italian pipe makers: Peppino Ascorti and Luigi Radice collaborated to create the legendary brand: Caminetto. This brand is also one of the main players in the "Italian Renaissance" that is much talked about in the American pipe smoking circle. The unique finish and pipe blank processing technology make the pipe widely praised and followed for its first-class dry smoking quality. In 1980, the two craftsmen went solo and established their own brands, and Caminetto disappeared immediately. However, now Peppino's son Roberto Ascorti is determined to continue the Caminetto legend. The work maintains Caminetto's consistent dry taste and incorporates Roberto's technology and design concepts.
Don Carlos
Famiglia (family, Italian). When one visits Don Carlos, one feels at home, not only there, but also the moment one enters the store. The founder and hostess of Don Carlos are Bruto Sordini and Rosaria Sordini respectively. Their home is in Cagli, Italy, a small town of 6,000 residents 50 kilometers away from the Adriatic Sea. It's also half an hour's drive from the nearest train station. When you come here in mid-November, the surrounding peaks are already covered with snow.
L'anatra Italy
"L'anatra dalle uova d'oro", a briar pipe brand symbolized by the merganser duck, is quite original and innovative but at the same time A brand that does not neglect its classical beauty and elegance. All pipes are made by two very outstanding craftsmen, Massimo Palazzi and Andrea Pascucci. They have given great enthusiasm since the selection of briar roots and paid attention to their natural nature during the production process.
The two of them have worked together for many years at PESARO***, the best handmade pipe workshop in Italy, and have considerable experience. There they worked hard to learn and explore more about pipe making and craftsmanship until they jointly founded the Merganser brand in 1998.
Jacono Italy
Creating pipe art is an important part of Tonino Jacono's life. All Jacono pipes have a small "j" logo inlaid on the mouthpiece. At least it looks like a "j". But from a smoker's perspective, it's more like an exclamation point. The following article can better explain what kind of person Jacono is, and his wonderful life is indeed like an exclamation point.
Rinaldo (Italy)
When it comes to Italian hand-made pipes, the Rinaldo brothers: Elio and Guido, are undoubtedly impressive. They want to prove that high-quality pipes do not necessarily require high prices. In 1987, the Rinaldo brothers began making pipes under their surname brand. In fact, they started making pipes as early as 1974, when they were still in their teens. Rinaldo pipes are made from the finest Mediterranean heather roots, carefully designed and comfortable to hold. In addition, the cigarette holder is made of synthetic resin (Acrylic) with relatively balanced indicators to ensure the taste. Although many manufacturers hire craftsmen, the Rinaldo brothers do everything themselves and do not rely on others. Rinaldo pipes are available in 3 finishes: Triade (Smooth), Sahara (Sandblast), Lithos (Rusticated) and various sizes to choose from, and there are three band series: Briar, Silver and Gold.
Peter Heeschen Denmark
When people smoke with pipes, it should not be considered a bad habit. Because the pipe itself is a work of art, and smoking a pipe is a way of life.
Pipe brand introduction Barling (UK)
In 1812, silversmith Benjamin Barling decorated his handmade meerschaum pipes with silver jewelry and began to officially manufacture and sell Barling pipes. In 1851, the company entered the "modern" stage and began to produce pipes using the then magical new material - briar root. From the turn of the century until the company was acquired in 1960, pipe smokers around the world continued to seek out "B. Barling & Sons" (Pre-Transitional Barling) pipes known for their high smoking quality. After many changes in quality and location, Barling pipes are now back in the world.
Peter Matzhold (Austria)
Austrian pipemaker Peter Matzhold’s previous career was a construction engineer. This can be confirmed every time you take a closer look at or try out his work. Simply put, the work is flawless both structurally and aesthetically. Matzhold uses only the finest Italian heather roots. Every six months, he personally goes to the briar wood factory and carefully selects three to four hundred pieces of wood that can match his name from thousands of pieces of wood. From material selection to handwork, we pursue perfection without compromise. The result is that every Matzhold pipe is made from flame-grained wood that matches seamlessly with the hand-carved vulcanite mouthpiece.
