The graphic symbol of Mitsubishi is a combination of the family symbol "Sanduanling" of Iwasaki and the family symbol "Sanbailing" of Tosa Yamauchi. These three diamond symbols were originally used as the flag of the Ninety-Nine Chamber of Commerce, a famous ocean shipping company in Japan in the 1970s.
