The Economic Industry of Rulin Town
Rulin Town, with four distinct seasons, fertile land, a pearl of water town and a treasure trove of geomantic omen, is located in the center of the most economically developed Yangtze River Delta Economic Belt, with a total area of 6 1.2 square kilometers and a total population of 36,800. It has jurisdiction over 12 administrative villages. It is the economic center of Jintan District and one of the top ten agricultural towns in Changzhou. The aquaculture industry dominated by river crabs is particularly developed, and it is a well-known hometown of aquatic products. Among them, net culture 1.733 hectares, the total amount of precious aquatic products such as river crab, freshwater shrimp, soft-shelled turtle and mandarin fish is more than 5,800 tons, with an output value of 380 million yuan, accounting for more than 90% of the total agricultural output value. For a long time, the town party committee and government have always regarded aquaculture as the key work to increase agricultural efficiency and farmers' income, and it is an economic industry in 1 998. In 2003, Zhennong Company declared that Eriocheir sinensis, freshwater shrimp and soft-shelled turtle were pollution-free agricultural products, and Eriocheir sinensis won the reputation of "the queen of crabs" at the Shanghai promotion meeting. In 2004, it won the title of "Crab Queen" again in Hong Kong, and was bought by Hong Kong Wufenghang for a sky-high price of HK$ 200,000. "Changdang Lake" brand Chinese mitten crab enjoys a good reputation in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. In 2006, Rulin Town was awarded the Demonstration Zone of Healthy Crab Breeding in Rulin Town, Jintan City, Jiangsu Province by the Ministry of Agriculture [(2006) No.50]. In 2007, the Party Committee and the government also increased their investment in high-efficiency fisheries, and accordingly issued the Opinions on Strengthening the Construction of High-efficiency Fisheries (Ru (2007) 17), and invested 2160,000 yuan to build a 588-mu high-efficiency fishery demonstration zone in Beigan River. According to the principles of ecology and engineering, a large-scale and efficient fishery demonstration zone with beautiful environment, supporting facilities, advanced technology and remarkable benefits will be built in an all-round way, and aquaculture facilities such as ponds, ditches and polymer micropores will be complete. Innovating the "four reforms" technology through standardized means, that is, transforming infrastructure, transforming aerobic technology, improving fertilization and hydroponics technology, and improving feeding technology, 65,438 river crabs were realized.
