Aster missile system includes Aster 15 medium-range regional defense missile and Aster 30 long-range regional air defense missile. The missile adopts the Ghirba ACEA50 vertical launcher of the French Navy, which has fast response speed and can resist various and multi-target saturation attacks. At present, the "Zi Yuan" missile has been successfully intercepted and tested many times, and it was put into use at the end of 2003. The air defense performance of the "Lafayette" class has been qualitatively improved. Lafayette-class anti-ship weapons are mainly two MM40 flying fish anti-ship missiles. Flying Fish missile is a famous anti-ship missile developed by France National Aerospace Industry Corporation, including ship-to-ship, air-to-ship and submarine. The missile adopts sea-skimming flight mode and has strong penetration ability. The missile became famous in the 1982 Anglo-Arab War. An AM-39 flying fish missile launched by the legitimate "Super Flag" attack aircraft of the Argentine Air Force sank the advanced British guided missile destroyer Sheffield. Since then, the French have continuously improved the "flying fish" missile. The maximum range of Galeries Lafayette-class MM40 exceeds 100km, and the power and penetration ability of warhead are greatly improved compared with earlier models. It is one of the main anti-ship weapons of French naval warships.

The "lafayette" class of the French navy is mainly engaged in air defense and anti-ship operations, so there is no anti-submarine torpedo tube installed on the ship at present, and the anti-submarine task is mainly completed by ship-borne helicopters. The ship can carry a 9-ton medium-sized helicopter and can be used for anti-submarine and anti-ship operations. If necessary, other anti-submarine equipment can be installed at any time.
