HiTea is headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. In 2012, HEYTEA originated in an alley called Jiangbianli in Jiangmen, Guangdong. Its original name was ROYALTEA. Since it was unable to register a trademark, it was fully upgraded to the registered brand "HEYTEA" in 2015. On April 18, 2019, it won the 8th "China Food Health Seven Star Award". On July 14, 2020, following the launch of bottled juice products, Heytea sub-brand Heyxiaocha launched bottled soda drinks. In addition to Heytea offline stores and online department stores, this product will also be sold through other external channels.

On March 31, 2020, Heytea released a new sub-brand "Xi Xiaocha Beverage Factory" on its official Weibo and WeChat, and its first store was opened in Huaqiang North, Shenzhen. On March 23, 2020, Heytea is about to complete a new round of financing: jointly led by Hillhouse Capital and Coatue (Coatue Capital), the post-investment valuation may exceed 16 billion yuan. On October 16, 2019, the first Heytea Xiaoshan store officially opened in Yinlong Department Store. In July 2019, Heytea completed a round of financing led by Tencent and Sequoia Capital, with a post-investment valuation of 9 billion yuan.
