About name and destiny

——Spirit Escaper

I have given many names and changed many names. Many clients have asked me about name and destiny. topic. I will write a few words about this today. First of all, name and destiny, don’t be alarmist, this is professional ethics. This is also my first point.

Anyone who is familiar with history and the Zhouyi knows that the initial creation and application of the Zhouyi were not for naming purposes. Naming only began to be taken seriously when society developed to a certain extent. Name scientists are derived from the refined division of labor in modern society.

Contemporary expectant fathers and expectant mothers generally attach great importance to their baby’s name. What about the ancients? In fact, the ancients also attached great importance to it. For example, there is a saying that "when one person stands, he hesitates for ten months." It can be seen that parents in ancient and modern times are of one mind. The ancients had a saying of "establishing the name and crowning the name". When the baby is born in March, he will be given a name, and when he is still weak, he will be given a crown. For example, Chiang Zhongzheng, also known as Jieshi. Mao Zedong, also known as Runzhi. Zhuge Liang, courtesy name Kongming. Du Fu, courtesy name Zimei. Basically "zi" is the explanation and development of "name".

There are many methods of naming in China, and there are many factors to pay attention to. But it never changes from its roots. There are two ways of thinking about naming. One is the "reasoning theory" method, and the other is the "mathematical theory" method. The reason is that it is inseparable from the Chinese culture of "Xiang, Number, and Reason".

For example, my own name - Wang Yin, which many people call me, was obtained by my father using "mathematical methods" based on the horoscopes. Later I gave myself another pen name - Spirit Escaper. I took it myself based on the "righteousness method". The spirit escaper symbolizes the interaction of yin and yang, the unity of heaven, man and earth, and the tireless pursuit of meaning. I also explained this in my blog.

So is name related to destiny? There certainly is. Your name is your life's code and business card. You use it to face society and everyone. So the name is directly related to you, not indirectly.

A good name is particularly important. So what kind of name is considered a good name, and how does a name affect a person? This may be confusing to many people.

First let’s look at an experiment. A researcher brought a 9-month-old baby to a social psychology class. He asked about half of the students to think the child's name was "Keith" and the other group to think his name was "Keith." "Lun". He then asked college students to describe their impressions of the baby, including its physical characteristics, behavior in class and personality. "Keith" and "Karen" made no difference in the two types of judgments for which the situation provided direct evidence—physical characteristics and classroom behavior. But in terms of personality, compared to "Karen", people think "Keith" is more active, noisy, active and rough. It can be seen that a person's name does have a certain impact on the first impression a person makes on others. The latest research by American scholars shows that having a good name will make people more attractive. Researchers believe that for women, female names with a closed accent are the most attractive. For example, "Victoria" is a very attractive name, while "Amy" is annoying.

As you can see, the name is the first business card for each of us. Although it is just a text symbol, it has information energy and the holographic concept of words. A suitable good name or nickname should essentially be a kind of elegant culture that keeps pace with the times and is influenced by the regulations of fashion culture. It should be a pleasing landscape painting and a good poem with concise language and rich connotation.

The above experiments are not enough. Let’s take a look at how names affect people from a psychological perspective. Professor Luo Zheng from the Department of Psychology at Peking University said that we all know Pavlov’s principle of classical conditioning. Conditioned reflexes are divided into two types, they belong to the first signal system and the second signal system respectively. The first signal system is people's conditioned reflection of the natural attributes of things. The second signal system is the language and text signal system. This signal system is unique to human beings. Through this signal system, people grasp abstract things and concretize them through subjective association and imagination.

Let’s take an example to explain: Our “eating plums to quench thirst” is an unconditioned reflex, while “looking at plums to quench thirst” is a type of conditioned reflex. It means seeing the image of plums and feeling its shape and color. Waiting for information, this is the conditioned reflection of the first signal system.

"Talk about plums to quench thirst" means that when people talk about plums, they respond by secreting saliva without seeing real plums. This is the conditioned reflex of the second signal system.

The associations we make when talking about names are similar to the examples above. In the process of learning language and characters, people have closely combined abstract characters with real things and established a stable conditioned reflex. Therefore, when mentioning a person's name, people will start with the characters that make up the name. Produce subjective psychological reactions. If the person's name is associated with something beautiful, people will have a sense of beauty. And this kind of beauty is obviously good for the owner of the code name.

So I think: a loud, elegant, and tasteful name will be conducive to social interactions, improve affinity, strengthen interpersonal relationships, and be conducive to career development. This is science, not superstition.

Above we have explained the influence of names on people from a scientific perspective. Next, let’s talk about traditional culture.

When a Chinese person chooses a name, he must understand Chinese culture and the auspiciousness of Chinese culture. The transformation of this kind of "auspiciousness" is what I mentioned above, "a loud, elegant, and tasteful name." This kind of "auspiciousness" is a kind of social environment, and the influence of environmental forces on us is undoubtedly great. "Three people become a tiger" and "The masses' rhetoric can kill a person." all reflect this kind of power. And our names naturally want to be good.

One person shouts good, and thousands of people shout good; one year calls good, and ten years calls good, your name is called like this, it is good, and its owner will naturally benefit. . Just like praying, just like chanting auspiciousness, it affects you subconsciously. Maybe you've never considered the impact your name has on you.

The auspiciousness in China is a combination of factors that conform to the five elements of numerology, mathematical patterns, and do not infringe on the names of elders. It is such a combination that can give us good hints and guidance, increase our energy, motivate us to make progress, make us work hard and strive for the top, and help our career success.

So many celebrities, after becoming famous, often spend a lot of money to change their names. We are more familiar with celebrities who have changed their names. For example, Jackie Chan, formerly known as Chen Gangsheng; Andy Lau, formerly known as Liu Furong; Shu Qi, formerly known as Lin Lihui; Jolin Tsai, formerly known as Cai Xiaoling. I won’t give many examples.

Many clients will ask me, can changing one’s name change one’s destiny? I will tell him: No matter how important your name is, it is not more important than yourself.

So it is nonsense to try to change your destiny by just changing your name without working hard. A good name, like I said above, will bring you good luck, facilitate your social interactions, and give you a good first impression. In other words, it makes it easier for you to "promote" yourself, fill out forms and do things, etc.

So what kind of name needs to be changed? I personally think that if it is not a great evil or tragic, has bad ambiguity or bad homophony, it does not need to be changed. Of course, if the economy allows, you can change it to a better one.

Take the example I modified: Huang Chong. This is a masculine name. The homophone is "locust, yellow worm." Such a name is indeed worth changing. Another example is seeing the names of two sisters. My sister’s name is: Zhou Xiangyu. My sister’s name is: Zhou Xiangyan. Although it is convenient to consider the eight characters, five elements, or three times of the five grids, it is not suitable. But they were not advised to change their names.

Because these two names are still positive in terms of pronunciation, glyphs, meanings, and overall meanings.

I have seen bad names from various places collected by netizens on the Internet. For example, the names of Shi Zhenxiang, Bi Yuntao, Lai Yuejing, Fan Jian, Ji Congliang, Fan Tong, Xia Jianren, Zhu Yiqun, Qin Shousheng, Pang Guang, Wei Shengjin, Jiao Hougen, Shen Jingbing, Du Ziteng, Liu Chan, etc. should indeed be changed.

What we discussed above is names. The same goes for company names and trademark names. A company is also a "person".

This is about the relationship between names and destiny. I believe that after reading this, you can already understand the knowledge of names objectively.

There are still many people who want to learn naming and ask me how to learn it. What I want to tell you is that naming is easy to learn but difficult to master. There is a lot of knowledge that needs to be mastered. And internationalization has arrived. It is more difficult to come up with a name that is both "auspicious" in China and "auspicious" in foreign countries, and also avoid being registered by others. I think this is also one of the reasons why we name scholars can gain a foothold in the industry.

Finally, I hope you can get what you want to read from this article. I wish you all good health and good luck.
