Tianshui is an important birthplace of ancient culture in China, enjoying the honor of "hometown of Xihuang", and it is a holy place for descendants of dragons at home and abroad to seek their roots and ancestors. There are many cultural relics in the territory, including 169 national, provincial and municipal key protected cultural relics, among which Dadiwan site preserves a large number of early Neolithic and Yangshao cultural treasures. The only Fuxi Temple in Tianshui, which has a statue of Fuxi in China, is carved with beams and painted with buildings. Maijishan Grottoes, one of the four largest grottoes in China, is known as the "Oriental Sculpture Museum". It has gathered more than 7,73 statues from the end of the 4th century to the 2th century, and together with Daxiangshan, water curtain cave, Lashao Temple and Muti Temple, it has formed the "Grottoes Art Corridor" in the eastern part of the ancient Silk Road. At the same time, the botanical gardens, Xianrenya, Shimen, Jingtu Temple, Quxi, Xiangjishan, peach blossom ditch and Jiezi Hot Spring Resort, which are distributed around Maijishan Fiona Fang for dozens of miles, together form a national forest park-Maijishan Scenic Area. The human landscape and natural beauty complement each other, and they are ingenious, attracting countless tourists at home and abroad.

Tianshui was called Chengji in ancient times. According to legend, Fu Xishi, the ancestor of China, was born here, so it is also called "the hometown of Xihuang". Tianshui City has a long history, with a rich cultural heritage. There are many cultural relics in the territory. Almost every square kilometer has a Neolithic cultural site. Tianshui Fuxi Temple and Guatai Mountain are places where Chinese people at home and abroad worship their ancestors. The well-known historical story of Ma Su Street Pavilion and Jiang Wei's three wars against Xiaolongshan is in Tianshui. Wushan water curtain cave, there are all kinds of towers, springs, sculptures and portraits in the cave; The Great Xiangshan Mountain in Gangu rises from the ground, towering and spectacular, and there is a serene and quiet Giant Xiangshan Buddha on the mountain; Xianren Cliff, adjacent to Maiji Mountain, is a scenic spot where Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism are integrated.

Tianshui is a rare place with beautiful mountains and rivers in Gansu. Maijishan Scenic Area, which is composed of Maijishan Grottoes, Xiaolongshan Botanical Garden, Xianren Cliff, Shimen and Quxi, is the first batch of scenic spots announced by the State Council. The area is surrounded by mountains and rivers, which is both beautiful in the south of the Yangtze River and magnificent in the mountains and rivers of the north. It is an ideal tourist destination.
