1. How long is the green food label valid for?

1. The right to use the green food label is valid for three years from the date of approval. Those who request to continue to use the green food label must re-declare within ninety days before the expiration of the validity period. Failure to re-declare will be deemed to have automatically given up the right to use it. If the certificate expires and it is necessary to continue to use the green food label, the label user shall submit a written renewal application to the provincial agency three months before the expiration date. Provincial work agencies should organize and complete relevant inspections, testing and material review within 40 working days. If the applicant passes the initial review, the China Green Food Development Center will make a decision within ten working days on whether to approve the renewal.

2. Legal basis: Article 18 of the "Green Food Label Management Measures"

The green food label use certificate is valid for three years.

If the certificate expires and it is necessary to continue to use the green food mark, the mark user shall submit a written renewal application to the provincial agency three months before the expiration date. Provincial work agencies should organize and complete relevant inspections, testing and material review within 40 working days. If the applicant passes the initial review, the China Green Food Development Center will make a decision within ten working days on whether to approve the renewal. If the renewal is approved, the green food mark use contract will be renewed with the mark user, a new green food mark use certificate will be issued and announced; if the renewal is not granted, the mark user will be notified in writing and the reasons will be given.

If the user of the mark fails to apply for renewal within the time limit, or if the application for renewal is not approved, he shall not continue to use the green food mark.

2. How to apply for a Green Food Certificate

The method for applying for a Green Food Certificate is as follows:

1. The applicant fills out the "Application Form for the Use of Green Food Logo" , in duplicate, including attached materials, should be reported to the green food management department of the province, autonomous region, municipality directly under the Central Government, or city under separate state planning;

2. An environmental protection monitoring agency entrusted by the provincial green food management department that has passed provincial metrology certification or above , conduct an environmental assessment of the origin of the product or product raw materials;

3. The provincial green food management department will conduct a preliminary review of the application materials and submit the materials that pass the preliminary review to the China Green Food Development Center;

4. The China Green Food Development Center will work with authoritative environmental protection agencies to review the above materials. If the products are qualified, the food monitoring agency designated by the China Green Food Development Center will sample the declared products and test them according to the green food quality and hygiene standards. If they are unqualified, their applications will no longer be accepted that year;

5. The China Green Food Development Center will conduct a comprehensive review and on-site inspection of products that pass the quality and hygiene tests, and sign a "Green Food Mark Use Agreement" with qualified applicants. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will issue a Green Food Mark Use Certificate and No. shall be reported to the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce for filing and announced to the public at the same time.
