Since August 2001, the company has used “Tang’s Inn” as its brand name, focusing on developing hotels with 3 stars or less to become chain franchise stores of the Tang’s Inn brand, and taking franchising as the core of its business model.
In December 2001, the company officially designated "Home Inn" as its brand name and applied for trademark registration (former names: "Tangren" and "Penglai").
In June 2002, Ctrip and Capital Tourism Group formally established a joint venture company named "Homeinn Hotel Chain", with "Homeinn Express Hotel" as the core brand.
In January 2003, the first franchise store of "Homeinn" was signed, which also became the first real franchise case of a domestic hotel brand.
