During the New Year’s Day holiday, Yidu Finance discovered in the Meituan App that the word “e-commerce” actually appeared in the navigation bar at the bottom of the homepage. Click in and you can see the four characters "Meituan E-commerce" in the upper left corner. Although Meituan’s e-commerce business is nothing new, it is the first time that Meituan has directly appeared as a “Meituan e-commerce company”.

The predecessor of "Meituan E-commerce" is the "Tuanhaohao" e-commerce business launched in August 2020. In November 2021, Tuanhaohao changed its name to Meituanhaohao. According to LatePost, Pinduoduo had to change its name because it registered the "Tuanhaohao" trademark in 2015. The words "Meituan Good Products" can still be seen on the activity page of "Meituan E-commerce".
