To understand the process of self-adhesive printing process, you first need to understand the formation of self-adhesive:
Self-adhesive is a roll tissue with better quality and professionally applied The glue machine applies glue on the back, and it is bonded to the waxed backing paper to form a self-adhesive.
When printing, the printing surface can be cut into different specifications according to the size of the printing machine or the size of the printing area. After printing, the required processes for making the self-adhesive include lamination, glazing, cutting, oiling, scribing, creasing, hot stamping, silver hot stamping, and punching. Lamination: There are four types of lamination, including liner composite lamination, linerless composite laminate, dry lamination, and UV lamination.
Composite lamination with backing paper: It is carried out on the label machine, using a special composite film with backing paper, and laminating under the action of the lamination device.
Composite lamination without liner: The linerless film relies on the surface smoothness (surface tension) of its own material to rewind and replace the liner. After the adhesive is bonded to its surface, it can also be peeled off. And no glue residue remains. The material used for the bottomless paper film is BOPP film with low surface tension. Bottomless paper film lamination has low cost and is currently the most widely used lamination material.
Dry lamination: performed on a laminating machine or gravure printing machine, mainly used for laminating film materials. Dry lamination of roll materials is suitable for large quantities of label products. The lamination quality is good and the cost is low. After the roll label is coated, it usually undergoes secondary processing such as die-cutting and waste removal on the processing machine.
UV laminating: Mainly used on unit-type rotary labeling machines with UV drying devices. The surface of the coating material is first printed with UV adhesive by an ordinary printing unit. After the adhesive is cured by a UV drying device, it becomes a pressure-sensitive adhesive. Then the ordinary BOPP film (generally the composite surface has been corona treated) is laminated with the roll material at the laminating station to complete the laminating process. Suitable for high-speed production
Glossing: There are two types of glazing after self-adhesive offset printing: gluing and calendering:
Gluing is mainly based on woven vinyl resin and uses solvents. After dilution, the coating is applied to the cardboard using a sheet-fed coater.
Calendering is also called pressure coating. It is a process in which printed matter with layers is rolled and compressed to increase the gloss.
Cutting: Use a marking machine to draw lines on the self-adhesive paper, and use cutting to cut according to the lines.
To stick the knife, you can add some oil to the knife or add a layer of paper on the self-adhesive paper.
Over-oiling: It excludes over-gluing, but it also has the effect of over-gluing. It covers the surface material with a glossy film or a matte film, and finally presents a bright or matte effect!
Line: Use a self-adhesive machine or die-cutting machine to score the self-adhesive. Adjust the pressure on the self-adhesive scribing machine to allow the blade to cut or cut strips or dotted lines on the surface of the self-adhesive. Cutting, rolling fold lines, etc.
Indentation: In order to facilitate the later use of the self-adhesive, use an embossing machine to press out marks or leave grooves for bending on the self-adhesive paper.
Hot stamping and silver hot stamping: Use a hot stamping machine and a hot stamping template engraved with special text or patterns to heat and pressurize the pattern or text to the required temperature, and transfer it with appropriate pressure. to the surface of the material being stamped. It should be noted that when hot stamping different materials, you should use the appropriate type of anodized aluminum, and select the appropriate temperature, pressure, and hot stamping time to achieve the ideal hot stamping effect.
Punching: In order to facilitate some special requirements for self-adhesive, punching equipment is used to punch holes on the self-adhesive paper that can be connected.
