What does it take to become a trademark agent?
To apply for a trademark agent, the following conditions must be met: 1. Having published articles on trademark law in academic journals above the provincial level; 2. Have full capacity for civil conduct and be under 65 years old; 3. Approved by the Trademark Office; 4. Other conditions.

Legal basis

Article 4 of the Measures for Examination of Trademark Agents' Qualification, citizens of the People's Republic of China who abide by the Constitution of the People's Republic of China, are in good health, have full capacity for civil conduct, are under 65 years old, have published articles on trademark law in academic journals at or above the provincial level, and intend to engage in trademark agency work after obtaining the qualification of trademark agent, and meet one of the following conditions, shall be examined by the Trademark Office. (2) Having a bachelor's degree or above and having been engaged in trademark law teaching and research or intellectual property trial for more than ten years; (3) Having a college degree or above, having been engaged in trademark registration for more than eight years or engaged in trademark administration for more than ten years, or having held leadership positions at or above the division level in the trademark administration department for more than five years.
