Offset paper is printing paper, also called offset paper. It refers to paper that is coated with glue on both sides of the paper during the papermaking process to improve its surface physical properties. Generally, the basis weight of offset paper is between 60 grams and 120 grams, and there are also high-weight offset papers of 150 grams.
Coated paper is also called coated printing paper, and is called pink paper in Hong Kong and other regions. It is a high-grade printing paper made of base paper coated with white paint. It is mainly used for printing covers and illustrations of high-end books and periodicals, color pictures, various exquisite product advertisements, samples, product packaging, trademarks, etc.
The characteristics of coated paper are that the paper surface is very clean and flat, with high smoothness and good gloss. Because the paint used has a whiteness of more than 90%, extremely fine particles, and is calendered by a super calender, the smoothness of coated paper is generally 600 to 1000 seconds. At the same time, the paint is evenly distributed on the paper surface and appears white. The requirements for coated paper include high coating strength, a thin, uniform coating, and no bubbles. The amount of adhesive in the coating is appropriate to prevent the paper from de-powdering and linting during the printing process. In addition, the absorbency of coated paper to xylene It must be appropriate and suitable for fine mesh printing above 60 lines/cm. However, offset paper is simply incomparable to ordinary printing paper and coated paper, and the printing effects are basically worlds apart!
It is easy to distinguish between coated paper and offset paper. The surface of coated paper is smooth, shiny and very delicate.
Coated paper is flat paper with dimensions of 787×1092mm and 880×1230mm, and the basis weight is 70~250g/square meter. Coated paper can be divided into single-sided coated paper, double-sided coated paper, matte coated paper, and textured coated paper. According to quality, they are divided into three grades: A, B, and C. The surface of coated paper can also be processed into patterns. Of course, the price of treated coated paper is relatively higher. The main raw materials of coated paper are coated base paper and coating. In terms of price, I can only give you a reference: the reference price of offset paper: 5000-7000/ton, the reference price of coated paper: 7000-9000/ton. The printing paper market has been very volatile in recent years, so prices change every day.
