Food safety is a topic that everyone is concerned about. While paying attention to the food itself, everyone should also pay attention to some safety indicators.

QS is the abbreviation of Quality Safety in English. For enterprises that have obtained food quality and safety production licenses, the food they produce and process must pass the factory inspection before being sold out of the factory. The food packaging shall be marked with the food quality and safety production license number uniformly formulated by the state and shall be printed or affixed with the food quality and safety market access mark "QS".

The style and usage of the food quality and safety market access mark are formulated by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China. The mark consists of the Chinese characters "QS" and "Quality and Safety". The main color of the logo is blue, the letters "Q" and "Quality and Safety" in Chinese are blue, and the letter "S" is white. It can be enlarged or reduced in proportion as needed during use, but it must not be deformed or discolored. Adding (printing) the "QS" mark to food means that the food meets the basic requirements for quality and safety.

Meat products, dairy products, convenience foods, quick-frozen foods, puffed foods, condiments, beverages, biscuits, and cans are subject to a market access system. The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine will take 3 to 5 years to implement a market access system for all 28 categories of food.
