The new non-GMO rice variety obtained by successfully hybridizing bamboo flowering and rice flowering through artificial pollination is called "hybrid bamboo rice", or "bamboo rice" for short.

The person who successfully won the title of "hybrid bamboo rice" in practice is agronomist Zhong Zhangmei, known as the "Father of Bamboo Rice".

In theory and practice, the first person to conduct "bamboo-rice hybridization and comparative genomics research" was Dr. Gui Yijie, who was conducting "crop genetic breeding" research at Zhejiang University.

In terms of breeding and quality review, the bamboo rice breeding team led by Dr. Wang Feng, deputy director of the Guangdong Rice Research Institute, successfully carried out "hybrid bamboo rice" breeding and passed the seed quality review. Bamboo rice variety name: "Juliangyou 746 (referred to as: Zhuxiangnian or Juliangyou Zhuxiang), product approval number: Guangdong Shendao 2009005".
