How to transfer a trademark to an individual’s name?

Trademarks can be transferred to an individual's name. If an enterprise needs to transfer a registered trademark due to merger, separation, merger, etc., it must apply to the Trademark Office. To apply for the transfer of a registered trademark, the transferor and the transferee must submit an application to the Trademark Office at the same time, and the transferee shall handle the application procedures for transferring a registered trademark. After the Trademark Office approves the transfer application, it will issue the corresponding transfer notice and transfer certificate notice to the trademark transferor and transferee.

Legal Basis

Article 4 of the Trademark Law

Natural persons, legal persons or other organizations can serve as trademark applicants. However, pure natural persons cannot be trademark applicants in my country. They need to provide a business license for individual industrial and commercial households. The regulations for trademark transfer and trademark application are the same.
