What is the application process for Australian trademarks?
Process of applying for an Australian trademark

1. Formal review: the applicant submits trademark application documents to the Trademark Australian Trademark Registration Office, and the Trademark Registration Office conducts legal review on the submitted application documents, trademark drawings, power of attorney and other documents; If it meets the requirements, the application date and application number shall be granted.

2. Search Report: The Trademark Registry will search for previously registered or applied Australian trademarks and issue a search report and a search report. The applicant will receive the above search report before the trademark is approved and announced, and decide whether to arrange the trademark announcement.

3. Substantive examination: When examining an Australian trademark application, the Trademark Registration Office only examines its registrability (that is, salience), also known as absolute reasons, and does not examine relative reasons, that is, it will not invoke prior rights to reject the application.

4. Trademark announcement: After examination, the Trademark Registrar thinks that the trademark application is acceptable, and he will make an announcement in the official trademark announcement of Australia. 3 months from the date of announcement is the objection period.

5. Approved registration: a trademark that can be registered after an objection ruling, or a trademark that has been announced without objection, shall be registered and issued with a registration certificate.
